Talents setup
Basically as arcane your talents should look something like this 57/3/11. The World of Warcraft Armory
You can play around with the 57 in arcane. There are different options you may find more suitable for you.
Armor/Glyphs
Thanks to the increase of spirit on our gear, the T9 2-piece set bonus, and the glyph, Molten Armor is the only choice for any raiding mage atm.
Glyphs are pretty straight forward: Glyph of Arcane Blast, Glyph of Arcane Missiles, and Glyph of Molten Armor. And the minors well... get what you want not to much special about them.
Rotation
The rotation is pretty simple.
-Always start with FOUR Arcane Blasts (this stacks the damage buff to full)
-IF Missile Barrage DOES proc, cast Arcane Missiles
-IF Missile Barrage DOES NOT proc, continue casting Arcane Blast until it does, THEN cast Arcane Missiles
Evocation is your friend. Very low cooldown so mana should be no issue.
I also recommend using Veins, Arcane Power, Mirror Image, any on-use trinkets, and Presence of Mind at the beginnings of fights just so if its a long fight you can use them again either mid fight or near the end.
Stats
The following is a list of all mage stats in order of effectiveness
spell hit rating (to cap which is 164 with talent i do belive) > spell damage > spell haste rating > spell crit rating > intellect > spell penetration
Addons
The only addons i typically use while raiding on my mage are:
Mage alert-Tells you when you get your procs as any mage spec (MageAlert - Addons - Curse)
Decursive-sounds as is dispels curses (Decursive - Addons - Curse)
I hope this helps some mages
