If you check Fury of Forgewright - Thottbot: World of Warcraft it modifies your language for the 10 seconds the proc lasts.

It changes the language you speak to Dwarvish.
Buff Description "Infused with the spirit of Franclorn Forgewright. You may only speak in Dwarvish."

"hey there you tubby little man, I'm going to put you in a pot and cook you for my dinner shorty!"

Macro this, or whatever else you want to say to the dwarves while beating on them in the bg's or while questing. The item is very nice, and a legit way to speak to dwarves as a member of the horde.
Gets even better at lvl 80, use the weak weapon to beat on a mob you can drag around with you, near Ally settlements so you can communicate.


I also promised a way to use Curse of Tongues (warlocks only) to break the Ally/horde language barrier.

Cast curse of tongues on target (12 sec duration) then cast Metamorphosis
you'll be able to talk to your selected target. Must be pvp enabled.

I assume this works because COT modifies their language to be Demonic, so does Metamorphosis.

If this only applies to what comes out of your mouth, then this may not work as I've stated here. Hard to test this properly without an ally friend to confirm they understood.

Can any helpful warlocks confirm?

I could have waited until spending the next few days testing this, but it looked like it had a very decent chance of working going by what the spells/item says. Wanted to get this into text before I forgot about it.


After further reading up on the Ironfoe, it lets you talk at Dwarves, and they can understand you but when they talk you hear gibberish. "touch that node and you're a dead little dwarf"
could have some practical uses, but doesn't let you hear their reply.

Jury is still out to lunch on the warlock curse of tongues + Metamorphosis (potential) trick.
I don't have a warlock yet, so if one of you could help confirm/deny this it'd be great.

Remember: It makes you able to speak dwarvish for 10 seconds, but does NOT make you able to understand it!

So you can only have a 1-way conversation, however the dwarf can use emotes to acknowledge what you mean.

Example:

"You say: Hello"
The dwarf will see it as:
"You says [Dwarvish]: Hello"
If the dwarf tries to say something back on dwarvish it will look like this for you:
"Dwarf says [Dwarvish]: ushga baga feka laka raka" (or something like that)

So the dwarf will need to communicate via the emote system.

I do not know if you can link items or link other stuff in dwarvish, but I'm pretty sure it's possible.

U cast metomorphosis.. u can UNDERSTAND THEM-- but you when you talk back they wont be able to understand you.

A few ways to get a 1 sided conversation.. but I have yet to see a legit way to talk back and forth both ways

Personally if you have a friend of the opposing faction... I think you might wanna invest in a ventrilo and/or faction change.

Farming a .01% drop rate mace seems like a bit much to be able to have a one-sided conversation for 10 sec...

The drop rate is significantly higher, since this used to drop off another mob in the instance.

yelling inventive insults at enemies is a far more worthwhile use of it *evil grin*

It's a new addition to Emperor Dagran Thaurissan's loot table, so for years it hasn't been dropping from him, the old data dilutes the new drops.

What you say about Curse of tongues is right 7itanium, only causes the affected target to speak demonic not understand it.
I saw this and then made the connection with Metamorphosis...but does -Met- have a different effect to COT, or does it only affect what you say as well? someone will have to test it. It's useless if Metamorphosis doesn't allow you to understand demonic.


However, if it does allow you to understand Demonic...
the it has a potential for eavesdropping on the enemy.

Curse of Tongues spam the enemy side, then cast Metamorphosis to catch the odd unattentive player trying to communicate with his team.

COT'd Enemy: ok get ready, once Kendoll takes the flag everyone form a line across the field to support him etc...

Or just pickup random babble, it's likely that 99.9% of the time this is what you'd pick up IF Metamorphosis lets you understand demonic.

For an item that allows you to do something above and beyond the normal everyday dps/rawr/bash stuff, for me at least it's worth farming.

Definitely worth it if you do a bit of pvp, then you'd use it every day instead of the rare occasion when you see a dwarf out in the open...above ground.
