    Rogue PVE Combat Guide (Raiding)

Ok so here comes my rogue pve guide.
Feel free to suggest things and i'll add them.
    I will be doing a FIST/DAGGER SPEC

    Talent Build:
The best talent build i've found to work is 15/51/5 (
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft)
You can play around with this, i used to go 13 into sub, but i've found this to be better

    Stat Importance:

Hit - ALWAYS be hit capped, you end up doing so much more dps than if your not - The hit cap you wanna shoot for is 11% (so 6% (203 hit) plus the 5% talent) For Ulduar you want 15% with talent (about 350 hit rating)

Agility - Agility gives AP and Crit, always good

Crit - crit is always good, but i'd take agil > crit any day.

Expertise - Its nice to have a little bit, don't go crazy with it though.

    Gear:

For all your gear questions, refer to
    www.shadowpanther.net.
*T8 isn't technically the best gear.
How shadow panther works: It measures MAEP (how well it is for a raid situation.
Here is a table given by the site explaining how MAEP is calculated.

    PVE Combat MAEP
    1 Agility = 1 MAEP
    1 Strength = .55 MAEP
    1 Stamina = .01 MAEP
    1 Hit Rating = .88 MAEP
    1 Crit Rating = .84 MAEP
    1 Attack Power = .50 MAEP
    1 Expertise Rating = .82 MAEP
    1 Haste Rating = .73 MAEP
    1 Armor Penetration Rating = 1.00 MAEP
    1 Resilience = .001 MAEP
    1 B/R/Y Socket = 16 MAEP
    1 Meta Socket = 80 MAEP

    Useful Professions:

Well there are a lot of pluses to professions for a rogue, so here are some good ones.

Inscription (The SICK ap shoulder enchant)
JC (for the 54 ap/27 agil gems)
Engineering (For the haste glove enchant and goggles)
Tailoring (Although not what i enjoy, it has a nice cloak enchant to it)
BS (The obvious additional socket for your gloves) - awesome paired with JC
Leather Working (The very nice 114 ap bracer enchant)

    Poisons:
Poisons are easy. But i found a cool little dps booster not too long ago.
Deadly poison on your dagger, and Wound Poison on your MH fist.

You still get the 5 stacks of Deadly fast, and you get a nice boost of damage from Wound poison. (I have tested it with Instant poison and wound tends to proc more than instant).

    Rotation:

    Garrote (Starter)
    3-4cp SnD
    5cp rupture
Snd > 11 seconds? No, slice and dice. Yes, eviscerate
    Repeat
Feel free to pop blade flurry and adrenaline rush.

Slice and Dice should take priority to Rupture.

Always ask when a BL will be blown, so you can time your cooldowns accordingly.

    Glyphs:

Glyphs as combat are really simple.

    Major Glyphs:

    Rupture
Slice and Dice (Can be replaced with Adrenaline Rush or Killing Spree - Thanks AscaL!)
    Sinister Strike

    Minor Glyphs:

    Blurred Speed
    Vanish
    and Picklocking.

    Gems:

Listed are the top 3 most important of each type of gem.

    Meta:

    Relentless Earthseige Diamond
    Chaotic Skyflare Diamond
    Relentless Earthstorm Diamond

    Red Gems:
    Bright Scarlet Ruby
    Delicate Scarlet Ruby
    Prestine Monarch Topaz

    Blue Gems:
Enchanted Tear (only allowed to have one)
    Balanced Twilight Opal
    Shifting Twilight Opal

    Yellow Gems:
    Pristine Monarch Topaz
    Glinting Monarch Topaz
    Wicked Monarch Topaz

    Useful Macros:

    Blade Flurry and gloves:

    /cast bladeflurry
    /stopcasting
    /use (Gloves)

Sap Target Announce: - not so important in raiding.
    /cast sap
    /p (/raid, /bg) %t Sapped.

There ya have it, sorry about typos all that crap, i wrote it fast.
Enjoy, i'll be happy to answer any questions.

You do not always want to be hit capped. You want the best stats you can get... sometimes harder hits are better than more hits. Just use a spread sheet for your gear, you will see that stacking +hit is going to gimp you.

And your rotation should not always use 5cp for finishers... I can get away with 3-5snd 5rupt and just squeeze in as many evis as possible without either of the other two falling off.

Your gems are wrong too, for combat, depending on your current ArP, stacking more ArP will be best in slot.

@ the finishers -- i like to keep a 5 pt snd up whenever possible.
@ the gems -- ArP? Armor Penetration? I just looked at @ Shadow panther, and that's what i've used so far. Theres ArP gems?? lol
@ hit capped -- you may hit harder, but you miss more, thus resulting in less dps

    ty for the input

You forgot the +114 AP enchant to the bracers, that comes from leatherworking.

You could explain the rotation like this

    1cp snd ( Start rotation )
    5cp snd
    5cp rupture
Snd > 11 seconds? No, slice and dice. Yes, eviscerate
    Repeat

And finnaly hit capped is not at 300 something hit rating. That's the poison cap.
700 something is the white hit cap and should NOT be prioritized over other stats

    +rep from me ^^
