    [Ulduar] Easy Hodir Hard Mode

Right, for anyone thats attempting Hodir Hard mode and are having Tank Threat trouble, this is a neat trick that might help you out.

    Required Reagents :
A Tank that can Taunt (obviously)
    A Mage

Right what you need to do is get your best geared Mage to get as much of the fight buffs as he can get,
Pop Mirror Image, and nuke his ass off.
When Mirror image wears off the Mage will get all the threat he just made instantly, resulting in an overaggro.

Now you want your MT to Taunt and your Mage to Invisibility.
If you did it right and your mage is properly geared to do masses of threat,
You'll get the result we get which is the Tank having loads of threat.

There you go, you successfully boosted your Tanks threat by loads.

    Gogo Hodir Hard modes !

!P.S. This Will Probably Work On Every(Or Most) Tauntable Boss(es)!

I'd have to agree with WarDrum, why would you even need that? Its not like any class is having a hard time getting aggro if they know what they are doing. Tank threat is very balanced atm.

Well im a tank myself and i do put out a constant stream of roughly 7-8k TPS.
And even then some DPS can catch up on me.

Not stating that this is NEEDED to kill him on Hard mode, but it sure as hell makes it allot safer for DPS to go all out.

I disagree with the "l2p tank" comments. I am a DPS myself but it is very hard to get enough threat as a tank in Hodir hard mode. Have you guys even tried it? You have to nuke everything you've got from the beginning without stopping. Especially ranged caster dps classes get awesome buffs which results in them doing over double DPS than normal, and from that becomes the risk of overaggroing. And those buffs are necessary if you want to complete the hard mode.

As for the original tip... at least in our kill mages were the only ones who had too much threat. They could easily use invisibility pre-emptively to clear their threat and continue nuking without any trickery. So if your DPS knows how to play, there's no need for any taunting.

On bosses without any insane dps buffs there shouldn't be any problems with threat, but even if there are, your threat reduction abilities given before wotlk are still there, you are allowed to use them.

So, not l2p tanks. More like l2p dps.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

And thanks for the positive reply, Elitism here gets annoying at times.

Tank should have enough time to pick up aggro.. if not send higher dps on npcs so that he has time at the beginning to catch up.
If you don't play Eye of the Tiger in your wow raiding playlist, you're not hardcore.

Although any serious raiding guild should know exactly how to manage threat and overagro, I do comment you for your positive and practical tip.

We use everyone's dps on the npcs. Still sometimes not enough if mages won't use invis.

When you tank hodir the tanks needs to have frost ress gear to avoid some massive dmg also the dps gets alot of increased dps so its really easy to overaggro.

If you guys say the tank needs to l2p on hodir hard mode, you obviously have not done hodir hard mode. Mages/ boomkins do upwards of 14k DPS on hard mode which is near impossible to hold agro. That is why the mage gets agro/tank taunt strat works and many guilds use it.

And yes this is coming from a tank who has done Hodir 2 min hard mode in 10 man and attempts on 3 min in 25 man.
