[Minimum effort] Make easy gold

Hi there,

We're all looking to find a way to make some quick, easy gold at minimum effort. What I have for you, is a nice little gold-making tip, for all of those too lazy to farm.


Basicly what you do is, you kill the level 60 rare spawn in the Dire Maul arena (NOT in the actual instance). This rare spawn ALWAYS drops 2 blue items, but the major money maker in this is, these rare spawns have a high chance of dropping an Orb of Deception (Orb of Deception - Item - World of Warcraft), which normally go around for about 1000gold each.

I'll tell you a little bit more about this rare spawn.
There's 3 elites which can spawn;

The Razza (The Razza - NPC - World of Warcraft)
Skarr the Unbreakable (Skarr the Unbreakable - NPC - World of Warcraft)
Mushgog (Mushgog - NPC - World of Warcraft)

When one is spawned, you'll most likely always either see The Razza or Skarr the Unbreakable. Mushgog is NOT on the same spawn timer as either of those 2. Mushgog can even spawn when one of the others is up, too. He's the rarest of the 3. Mushgog only drops ONE blue item, but spawns a lot of rare herbs along with him, herbs like Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage and Black Lotus.


These rare spawns are on a uncommon and random spawn timer;

-They can spawn each 2 hours
-They can spawn each 4 hours
-They can spawn each 6 hours

also, I've come to find, they can spawn 20 minutes before, or after the normal timer, as an example:

It's 12:00. You just killed the rare spawn.
That means it can respawn at the following times:

13:40
14:00
14:20

15:40
16:00
16:20

17:40
18:00
18:20

The rare spawns can be solo'd being a well-geared level 70, or by anyone at level 80


[I suggest you do this on an alternative toon you do not normally play and park him/her at the Dire Maul arena, so you can login from time to time to check if the spawn is there, and still do what you normally do on your main character.]

Please not that you are in the Dire Maul arena, and therefore are flagged as being in one. You can get attacked by your own faction, so be aware!

Yes, and while i'm making 1000+ gold/hour on the auction house, I can make another 800g/hour mining on my main. So that means, I can make ~2,000 gold/hour, and in 7 hours that comes out to 16,000 gold. Thats of course a bit more than I normally get, but even then it's better than the off chance you get an orb of deception to sell for 800g.

I'd say "[f-i-l-l-e-r]" but i don't think it's necessary.

As for your 2/4/6 hour respawn timers. Thats a load of crap. Some respawns take as long as 24-36 hours.

I have sat there and waited, took 9 hours for me to see the first spawn, yeah if you have the time to catch the spawn rate, then you go through tons and tons of wow wiki and such things... To then work the exact times it will spawn (aka you still have to sit there for an hour and a half because it is not exact), 2 of the 3 will dropd the orb, and 1 does not nor has it ever. The blues are trash and your lucky if you can even sell them. And I was only gettin 300-500g for the orb, not 800+

Then still, you do nothing on your alt character (if you have one). As I said said twice before, and am going to say a third time, you can keep on doing what you were doing on your main character, while this alt is a little addition to making easy money.

I never even stated this way of making money was supposed to replace the way you're making money now, did I? So read before you post.

So no, I never got owned.


Also, the prices of the Orb of Deception vary per realm. On my realm it is always at a price of ~900 to 1100gold. That's nice pocket money for doing almost nothing.

That's not true. In that case, you haven't figured out at which time he spawned/got killed, then repeatedly came back to find nothing. I have been doing this for lots of months, back in BC even, and I can confirm my respawn timers are correct. I have never had a spawn which took longer than 6 hours to pop. Most likely, on your server the spawn is constantly being farmed by other people, so your chances of catching it are slim.


As for the repost, I'm sorry, I had no idea.

A) I've camped him b4 with my guild. we've seen 12hour+ respawns on multiple occassions, so I have no ****ing clue what your talking about. For the most part im sure it's 2-6, but it CAN be more. Don't talk about what you haven't confirmed.
