well we weren't allowed to set up "Casino's" on any EU realms anyway so XD

If you can't mail, post on forums, advertise in trade, general, or defense, that leaves you with:
a)Yell (Which I am not sure whether or not is counted as a channel.
b)Say (Which I am also not sure about, and which is such a short range.
c)Vent/TS (Which means advertising only to your guild, unless you go to a server wide channel.

True it doesn't ban running a casino, but it sure impacts it.

Exactly. The more I think about it though, if your server does have a server-wide or even faction-wide IRC or Vent channel, then that would definitely be viable.

I was getting sick of the casino spam too.

When I saw they were legal again I made a casino mod quickly, to automatically record how much credit everyone has after giving you money, and give them automated commands, let them change their wager, auto cash out, etc. All with error protection. And combined with wowscribe it had transaction logging. (this was difficult due to the workarounds required.)

The only problem I ran into is TradeAccept() is now a protected function and I couldn't seem to get wow to think it was a hardware event, and no one was willing to help with that so it couldn't be an AFK casino bot.. and because I couldn't figure it out myself I wasn't able to release it to the mmowned community.
I had everything done 2 days after the casinos were legal. But it only advertised in yell once every 5 minutes, other than that it just used emotes and says. And because of that it would actually get more business because people respect you when you don't spam.

Over the last several weeks we’ve carefully monitored the Casino situation, and we’ve thoroughly reviewed all of your feedback. We’ve heard you, and the results are clear: Casino Advertisements are not welcome at all, and they impede your enjoyment of the World of Warcraft. In response to your feedback, we would like to inform our players that as of April 20th, 2009 (this date may be subject to change) any advertising for a casino is not permitted. This is to allow warning time for everyone involved to immediately begin adapting to the current approach.

Please feel free to report any casino advertisements you see on in-game public channels and we will be happy to investigate with the aim of addressing the issue both swiftly and appropriately.

We appreciate hearing from those of you who have expressed your concerns and we thank you all for refraining from advertising for casino related activities via in-game channels, in-game mail, or on our forums. Also, as always, please keep in mind that if casinos cause further issues for our players that we may find it necessary to continue to adjust our approach to the practice.

weird just talked to a GM yesterday and they said as long as you dont exploit, and dont spam (wait 30seconds between posts) you are good to go.. funny, i have the chat SS if u you want me to upload

Im pretty sure in-game GM's are rather useless. They don't ever seem to communicate with each other.

The official rules stated somewhere prior to this on the forums was either 3 or 4 minutes MINIMUM in-between trade/general/etc advertising.

If you want to run a casino, be extremely careful of how you do it otherwise it's likely they we ban again the use of casinos.

IF you are still interested in running a casino, I'd suggest setting up an auto /say program to do your casino advertising every 3.5 minutes (although just having a macro you hit even less often is safer) or so while standing either|
A) In front of Org AH
B) In front of IF Mailbox or on the bridge
C) On top of Org Bank
D) In front of Dalaran Banks
E) Between SW Fountain and AH (to reach both AH and mailbox people)
