[GUIDE] Moonkin PvE guide

So Basicly I am making this thread to help Boomkins toping their damage meterers and get a beter understanding on the Class and the Specc Balance. So hopefully this will be useful for some poeple.

Addons:
SquawkAndAwe: This is a Moonkin addon that is a must have if you are going to raid! It shows you the Cooldown on Eclipse, Dot timer, Clearcasting and Globalcooldown. This addon makes rading much easier and fun.

X-perl: This is a Unitframe addon wich is really good it is not a must have but it is really nice Addon

Grid: Grid is a usefull raid addon, It displays raidframes in a smooth and effective way where you cans e debuffs on raid members and much more!

Specc:
This is the specc i use when i raid, You can switch out some of the talents if you want to AoE a little more. This specc is 100% PvE, And since i play PvE specc in raids i will not come with any PvP talents.

This is the specc i recomend, But you can have some small problems with it in 10 man raids if you are a little bit undergeared. If you are then you should move 3 points from Celestial Focus to Dreamstate.

Food Buffs:
Well Moonkins have some foods to chose from but the absolute best buff food for us is the haste food.
Baked mana ray
Imperial Manta Steak




Flask:
There is only one flask for Moonkins atm and that is ofcoarse
Flask of the Frost Wyrm


The materials for this flask are:
Lichbloom x5
Ice Thorn x5
Frost lotus
enchanted vial
And almost every alchemist can make the flask.



Potions:
The potions you should be consuming as a Moonkin are ofcoarse Potion of Speed And if you have mana issues you should just go for Runic mana potion But do not forget about your inervate! But sometimes you have to give it to a healer that is low on mana so allways have some extra mana pots in your bags just in case.

Gems:
The gems i recomend you to use are "Reckless Monarch Topaz" and "Runed Dragon's Eye" if you are JC, As meta socket you should ofcoarse use "Chaotic Skyflare Diamond" If you are not a jc then you need 2 blue gems in your gear and then you should pick "Purified Twilight" Opal or "Glowing Twilight Opal".


Spell Rotation:
My spell rotation in PvE atm is that i start with puting up my Insect Swarm - Moonfire - Faerie Fire - Then i spamm wrath untill i get the Eclipse procc - Then i get 30% extra crit on starfire, then i spamm Starfire during the Eclipse and i do not renew any dot durning the starfire spamming - After the Eclipse i go back to doting and Wrath spamming untill the next Eclipse procc.


Glyphs:
Glyph of Starfall
Glyph of Starfire
Glyph of Insect Swarm


Proffesions:
The absolute best proffesion is JC
After that you should either go for Enchanting because of the ring enchants or Alchemy for the improved flask duration/spellpower buff.

This is a nice guide, but i don't see the link to your talent spec. +Rep x1 though can't do anymore today. Also i prefer to put my dots on and then spam starfire until wrath eclipse procs

There's no need for either intensity or dreamstate as of now, put your two points from intensity into improved moonfire instead.

Switch Glyph of Starfall to Glyph of Moonfire.

Rest seems about right.

EDIT: Correct spellrotation would be: Keeping dots/fearie fire up during lunar eclipse cooldown. Starfire spam when lunar eclipse is up. refresh dots/fearie fire if needed, keep spamming starfire as long as lunar eclipse is on cooldown (do not procc solar eclipse!).

This is horrible if you think you need haste before crit or spell power. Also your spec is retarded. Starfall? that doesn't belong in Pve at all. Intensity before dreamstate? take the points out of intensity and the point in starfall and spec 3/3 dreamstate.

Your rotation is also pretty stupid. FF after IS an MF? by time you do that your IS is already 3+ seconds gone before you even start casting your spells.

How about you post a WWS of your dps before you try and write a guide

EDIT: Firecracker salmon is currently the best food too. 46 SP will always be better then 30 haste. The only good about this guide is the must have add on.

Why would you spec into dreamstate / intensity at all? You do not have any mana problems at all with proper gear, replenishment and raidbuffs.

Starfall isn't great, but it has it's uses, putting that point elsewhere would be waste, seeing as the talents that are left are very situational and not worth it. (owlkin frenzy, gale winds)

Dream state does seem useless right now with the replenish but if your replenish resources die and your one of the only dps to carry out the fight, you would regret not specing into it. With the content coming up, more people will die due to the difficulty level and you more then likely end up with no replenish when you need it. I've been on the PTR myself, and I haven't had any real mana issues there either. How is your gear like? How many replenishment sources do you usually have? I'd rather have the dreamstate and/or intensity points elsewhere, such as brambles, imp motw / 5/5 Furor or even Genesis.

The ulduar bossfights doesn't seem to last longer, but I guess we'll have to wait and see, it's PTR after all.

No glyph of moonfire? Also starfall adds about 500dps for the duration, plus it procs NG. so its not that useless =/ i also dont see why you skip on gale winds, you spend more time getting to most bosses, AoEing trash, than you do for the majority of boss fights =/ my 2c.
