Hey guys, in this guide I will walk you through how me and a friend got our Bloodsail Admiral titles and then got back to neutral with Booty Bay. This guide is pretty straight forward and overall it took us around 5 hours /played time and around 500-600g.
[The Group Setup]
It is advised that you do not do this on your own. Have a reliable group to do it with. The ideal setup would be:
- A hunter (with the replenishment to minimize downtime)
- A Mage
- A resto shaman (for mana totems and healing, again, to minimize downtime)
- A paladin tank (for the AOE and healing abilities, any tank should do though)
- A Warlock or another Hunter
We did this as a Paladin and a Warrior, but try and get a group like this.
Step 1: Getting your Bloodsail rep.
So you want to be a pirate? You'd better start killing some Booty Bay Bruisers. But not in just a "rape and pillage booty bay" sort of way, no no. There are more efficient ways
First of all you should know that at 25 rep per kill you will need to kill approximately 1800 Bruisers. You will also need a safe spot, a place where the bruisers will not bother you. This safe spot is on top of the overturned dinghy (where the goblin is constantly lying down, near the hanging shark). To get on top of this you must go on top of one of the pillars near it and then jump up.
While you are sitting here the bruisers will not attack you unless you attack them. This is your place of rest.
Now, the place I found to have the most constant stream of bruisers is right near here, just on the ground next to the overturned dinghy. Standing here SHOULD make bruisers spawn and attack you every time one is killed. We did this as a Paladin and and a Warrior (the consecration made it really easy) and we kept going for an hour and a half before resting.
Ok, now that you have your two spots just switch between themWhen you need mana or need to go AFK just hop up onto the Dinghy and when you're ready again just hop back down.
The best way to do this is to just have your tank jump down and everyone else just AOE the bruisers from the top. Be careful to not over aggro though as the bruisers may start evading. Also have your healer staying up here. That way you can pretty much constantly kill bruisers until your tank/healer need to go AFK because the DPS are safe to go AFK as they please (don't let them leech though).
Step 2: You have the title...BUT CAN'T USE BOOTY BAY!! :yuck:
You are going to need a LOT of Silk Cloth...a HELL of a lot!
Basically, to get your rep back with Booty Bay you need to do the repeatable quest from the Bloodsail Traitor just outside Booty Bay. The quest is just a hand in of 40 silk cloth and 4 red dye. Each of these hand ins gives you 500 rep with Booty Bay.
To get from HATED to HOSTILE you need 36000 rep. That's 72 hand ins.
So to get from Hated to Hostile you need;
- 2880 Silk Cloth.
- 288 Red Dye.
This is the initial grind. Once you've gotten to Hostile it's pretty easy. Lets look at the figures...
From HOSTILE to UNFRIENDLY you need 3000 rep. That's 6 hand ins.
So to get from Hostile to Unfriendly you need;
- 240 Silk Cloth
- 24 Red Dye.
Now, from UNFRIENDLY to NEUTRAL you need 3000 rep as well, soooo...look up ^_^
TOTALS:
- 3120 Silk Cloth.
- 312 Red Dye.
For all you rich guys out there this may not seem like much of a hassle. But let me remind you that the closest mailbox that your Bloodsail Admiral can use is in Westfall!
The easiest way to do this is to get a friend who can still use Booty Bay safely. You buy up all the cloth (or grind for it whatever) and the red dye and you mail it to your friend. You then run down to the Quest giver and have your friend simply open trade with you and give you everything you can hold at once. Do a few turn ins and then open trade again.
This is the fastest way to get your rep back with Booty Bay. If you are grinding for the cloth you should go to Scarlet Monastery. (most level 80s can pull the Armory in one go).
Please note that as you are turning this cloth in your Bloodsail Buccaneer rep will decrease by 500 per turn in.
