No you don't, if you have not already done the quest the first time then find a everfrost, loot it, and right click the item that you received. A quest dialog will pop up. Accept it and head to Sons of Hadir and turn it in. From there you can pick up more Everfrosts for rep + gold.

Far as ive been able to find, there will only be around 2 at each given time, with some kind of respawn delay. The addon GatherMate (and its database) has locations for all the spawn points, using it with this Radar makes it even easier location the Chips did wonders for me!

Imo, this is a great way for getting exalted.. If you're looking for money, your best bet is farming with your profession.
