Basics
-You must be dedicated to leveling. If your not dedicated, you are not going to try your hardest.. If you find you aren't dedicated or maybe just bored I suggest you take a break from leveling and maybe switch to a different game for a lil bit or enjoy different aspects of WoW like PvP or instances.
-Set goals.. This may sound a little cheesy but part of being dedicated to leveling is to set goals. Here is some what of a outline I have made that may help you set goals:
1) New spells. Getting a new spell is always exciting, and making one a ''goal'' is a good idea. You can see up coming spells by going to Thottbot.com then seeing the class section.. Pick the class you are, then just check out the spells. (Talents also fall into this category)
2) Mounts. Getting a mount is something that a lot of people look foward to at a low level.. Making it a goal may make leveling seem worth it just for your mount.
3) A new instance.. Some people find instances fun, some find instances boring. But all in all seeing a new instance is always fun. You may want to make it a goal to get to level 45 to go to ZF or level 70 to see the nexus. So on and so forth.
4) BattleGrounds. Battlegrounds are fun, but they all require a specific level.. AV is level 50; EOTS is level 61+. Making it a goal to see a new BG is a good idea also.
5) Make your own goals.. Just make your own goals..
-Have friends to talk to.. Having friends well make time fly. Whether it is just guild talk, private talk, or general chat talking makes things fly.
-Music. Listen to music while leveling well help a lot.
-A cool addon. There are cool addons out there that make the game fun.. Something like Southpark Sounds or Comic Book mod may just make leveling fun.
II. Setting Limits
Setting limits is a lot like setting goals. Pretty much push your self to your standards. Maybe its something like 1 level each day, or 2 hours each day. A good way to set limits is to use your stop watch that is in WoW. To activate the stop watch follow these steps:
1) Click the time; there is the server time or local time on the mini map. if you click this a menu well come up
2) The first thing you should see in the menu should see a stop watch. The text is right next to it. If you click this stop watch a little thing well pop up.. And this is the stop watch.
3) Click the play button to start it, then the pause button to stop it. The reset button to...? Stop it..? lol.
Using the stop watch really helps me so I decided to share this with you guys, I set a goal to play my alt for 45 mins each day.. and to mine 2 hours each day. It helps a lot.
III. Guides and Addons
Here is a list I have made of the things that may help you level.
1) Joanas's Guide - This is a really nice guide.. I have used it and got to 30 in one day. It's nice, but if you have gotten to 1-80 before I don't suggest using it because you waste a bit of time reading everything. You can buy it here Joana's 70-80 WotLK (1-80) Horde Leveling Guide; Death Knight Leveling Guide
2) WoW Pro - Wow pro is full of guides. You can find the leveling guides here Leveling Guides | World of Warcraft Pro. They are all pretty nice, I have used jame's leveling guide 1-60. I found it very nice, I still use some of there tips they have told me to do while leveling my alts (I don't read the guide tho, I just memorized it.)
3) Quest Helper - This is the addon I MUST HAVE when leveling a alt. It's very nice. You can download it here QuestHelper - Addons - Curse. Pretty much shows you where to complete quests.
4) Zygor's Guide - I hear this one is the best, but I never have used it. You can find it here: Zygor Guides - Alliance & Horde WoW In-Game Leveling Guides.
NOTE: All the guides that cost money; I hear you can get by gaining access to the elite guide section on mmowned. You have to be a contributer or donate.
PS: This guide was written by me (Smahs), I spent a good 30 mins or so writing it and if you find some where else they took it from me.
