Being playing since well close to launch its still boring though :P owell... something to do
This could belong here as a good guide to start playing. I started around middle school at a best friend's sleepover, got imediately hooked after I saw him play his tauren warrior. Been playing on and off of public/private servers ever since.
Hahaha, oh man. I remember the first time I played WoW. May '07. Orc hunter. Spent like 2 days figuring out how to get a pet. I would get so pissed off because I couldn't use mail. I didn't know what talent points were until level 33. The first time walking into Orgrimmar. Nearly creamed my pants. The city was HUGE back then. I remember watching in awe all the "high level" players with their mounts and gear.
Nelf druid, leveled to 10 just randomly killing things before I realized there was more to it than just random senseless killing (go figure, eh?). I didn't know about questing and professions and all that jazz. Heck, I didn't even know about hearthing and resting. In some ways I still feel like a Noob as I've only been playing for about six months. But in the right guild, the game can be fun. Now the druid is lvl 80 and I'm workin on a Death Knight.
Oh, I kept looting armor and keeping it in my bag not knowing that I actually had to put it ON for it to be beneficial, lol. Man, what a LOSER I was.... :P
I remember being in a warsong gulch lvl 15 or summat to get my private rank(gief back vanilla wow good times lawl, whatever) on my (indeed) lagging computer. I think i had like 1 FPS and had sound on.
Somewhere in it i got stunlocked by a rogue and could only see it in screenshots, and with the loud sound out of my speakers i got really scared since somebody hurted my char(lawl) and after that experience i didnt enter WSG again before lvl 36 because i was scared of it.
True story(4,6 years ago or summat)
umm, we just has 4th anniversary, and WSG wasnt implemented till later in the game, so your "true story" isn't that true now is itI remember being in a warsong gulch lvl 15 or summat to get my private rank(gief back vanilla wow good times lawl, whatever) on my (indeed) lagging computer. I started playing about 6 months before tbc started first leveled a orc warrior which at the time i thought was epic ! , never got to do any of the old av's though or really experience the ranking systems which i didnt like, after i got the warrior to 70 in tbc i leveled a bloodelf warlock to 70 which was my main raiding character from then on joined the top raiding guild on my server (ragnaros) an downed every boss in sunwell got bored when all we were doing was farming so i quit for the time until lich king when i came back. In lich king i leveled my warlock to 80 an raided 25 man an 10 man for awhile until i was in full epics , then started playing up a deathknight which makes me laugh at how overpowered they are, currently 80 an laughing at people in battlegrounds when me and my retridin freind rape people , currently working on his pve gear also. thats as much as i can think of an pretty much sums up my wow exp
oh, really thanks all the players share experience with us. hope this go on.

I started release date in EU.
I remember playing with friends when it just came out, so I leveled like hell just to get ahead, turns out I hit 52 the day AV came out, my friends were still level 40 or so, so I hung out in AV killing the rams, got to 55 by doing that, I also remember staying in a single AV for 23 hours, I racked up thousands and thousands of honor kills.
I was one of the first 10 to hit 60, so we went and 'raided' scholo as it was still a 10/15 man instance and we cleared it first time. :P
