[Mage] Guide to PvP as Fire

Good guide mate, I like it. Though I don't see myself trying fire anytime soon. I am to fond of arcane now. But hey, that's my opinion.

Not true.. In PvP haste doesn't really matter at all.. Like I said, burst damage is the way to go in PvP not DPS.. Sure haste well get you more DPS in raids and stuff, but that isn't for PvP.. In PvP critting can mean saving your life..


Shatter only counts for frost spells, so hot streak won't crit more often if the target is frozen lawl

Just disregard this guy. Haste is the most important Frost mage pvp stat to get to a high level, and then spell power. Crit is the least important since you have so many ways to force shatters now. Also Shatter works for all spells

When i am in my full pve gear, i have about 2k SP and 34% crit. I literally can 1shot shaman,paladin,hunter,mage,warlock,.. any class but a DK or warrior (prot).

I do 10k FFb,8k Fireblast, then another 10k hotstreak (I use cumbustion, most of the time I get crits. Also my mana gem).

In arena this is so funny as I 1shot healers.

I admit i did not bother reading comments so im not sure if this was posted, but magic attunement and arcane subtlety are more for pve. You should take 2 points out of one of them or 1 point out of each of them and get Fire starter. The instant flamestrike is a free 2000 damage at 80 with decent gear and even more if it crits. Two points makes it 100% of the time and its after every dragons breath and blastwave. I use it and you would be amazed how much it helps. You just have to be smart casting it in front of where they are going or running. Also if you do that this build becames an amazing PVE aoe build. I have been in instances where i can pull aggro even after waiting for the mob to hit 70% health and the tank having an incredible amount of aggro just because my damage is so high. Also noticed in your talents molten shield only has one skill point, make it two. But other that aside this is a perfect guide.

I really don't know how anyone could learn much from a 'pvp guide', I've never even played a mage and I know everything mentioned.

Firestarter is more a PvE talent than magic atunement. The range from arcane helps alot with rogues (arcane explosion) and the magic atunement is great for arena.

Good Guide mate, just changed from Arcane/frost to Fire, and im happy with it in pvp ;b

Arcane explosion is pretty useless because of imp sap + the heightened mana cost. Even level 1 arcane explosion is costly in mana and firestarter helps me out tremendously it does an additional instant 3K damage at the least using it twice. if it crits i can see upwards near 6K all in all, i have easily killed people using fireblast, dragons breath, flamestrike, fire blast, blast wave, flame strike, and if needed another fireblast. they are all instant spells with the GCD thats only 12-14 seconds until i have killed something. So maybe its different skills we use when we fight or just opinion but i have REALLY enjoyed the firestarter skill.
