INTRODUCTION:
This is the first in a 3-part miniseries designed to simplify three of the easiest, yet most challenging bosses in Wrath of the Lich King (coincidentally, these three have been repeated from vanilla WoW).
Frogger Boss:
Frogger Boss is composed of 3 rows of slow moving slimes, working in unison to slaughter innocent raiders. Touching (or coming near) these slimes will kill you, horribly. The slimes spawn at irregular intervals, sometimes all three rows spawn together, sometimes they will spawn at different times, even skipping a row, or double spawning.
Firstly, touching these slimes does not kill you outright, instead they deal massive HP damage. This can be reduced by such skills as shield wall but there is no reason to waste such a cooldown on them. This guide will focus on how to avoid them completely, as hard as that may sound.
Firstly, lets stop to take a look at what we're facing. Your character will be in the blue circle. The slimes are surrounded by red boxes, and the red arrows show the direction they move. The movement is INCREDIBLY important. Since they crawl to your right, trying to pass in front of them can prove hazardous. ALWAYS try to pass directly behind a spawn or in a large gap. Also, since the slimes spawn on the left edge of the hall, stay away from that side. If one of them spawn on top of you, you will be killed.
Examine your first path. The red markings show where you cannot walk. Cutting right behind those is a safe bet.
A large gap! Notice that the red markings on the left slime are larger. Since the slime moves towards the right, passing in front of it is incredibly dangerous.
The second wave. Notice that there is plenty of room on either side of the slime to run past. WRONG! a new one may spawn behind, and NEVER EVER pass in front of one.
Wait another couple feet, then cut behind this slime.
Notice how cutting right behind the first slime puts me directly in between while I am in mid-travel. If you wait too long, the slime to the left will catch up with you and mow you down.
Last wave. Examine where you need to go and anticipate the movement. While I could strafe and sneak by, it is safer to wait on the next spawn and cut behind.
Again, cutting behind this slime will put me between this one and the next, which is what we want.
Almost there!
That's it, you're done. If you followed the instructions you should have passed at least several of the waves successfully. If not, practice makes perfect.
If you died to the slimes, don't worry. If your guild is any good at all, they will laugh their asses off and crack about how incredibly bad you are. A sense of humor is key here. Do not release spirit either. a 10 second res is much quicker than the flight back and running through Frogger Boss again.
Keep at it, and grats on your epic l00tz.
