    [Rogue Tip] 70-80 Leveling Spec

    Hello.
I was looking for the best spec to level past 70 for my rogue and the ones i've been advised were either combat or mutilate.
Now I found combat just plain boring so i tryed assasination although it's not much more fun.
The problem is, Mutilate costs a lot of energy so it doesnt really take full advantage of the Overkill talent (-10 energy for each move) because you only get to use it once or twice before the buff wears out.
To overcome this problem, i dropped mutilate and went into subtly tree to pick up Hemo.

The spec looks like this: WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Rogue -> Talent Calculator

At level 80 it should be WorldofWarcraft.com -> Info -> Classes -> Rogue -> Talent Calculator

Combining Overkill, Master of Subtly with a nice ambush crit to start the fight and you can bring down any enemy of your level in under 6 secs and thanks to camouflage, you can restealth and go kill some more. Quick recovery + bandages also reduces downtime a lot.

Just make sure you have something like these macros to make sure you have the right weapons for hemo and ambush.

    /cast ambush
    /equip "your slow main hander"

    And

    /cast stealth
    /equip "your dagger"

I found this spec to be a lot more enjoyable and effective, i hope you like it as well. Happy leveling!

Ambush > Mutilate > Envenom > Dead : how is that not efficient for leveling?

Well, unless you're epic geared (maybe), you won't get down that mob after first Mutilate. I'm using Balanced Heartseeker - Item - World of Warcraft for my MH and a greeny from Northrend for the OH and i still have to use another mutilate before finishing that mob and waiting for that 50/60 energy to fill in again is just wasting time.
And even if you get him on your first mutilate, assuming you put the rest of your talents into combat for dual wield, close quarters combat and so on, you won't have camouflage and it will still take 10 secs for you to restealth to then move to the next mob so you can do your ambush.

Ambush (crit guaranteed, unlike Mutilate) > 3/4 x 25 energy Hemo (you could also sneak in SnD after ambush) > Eviscerate (+20% dmg from Dirty Deeds) and the mob is dead and defenetly under 10 secs. You can now restealth and go kill more.

On the other hand, ghostly strike adds a nice dodge bonus in case you pulled more than one and you have preparation for another Evasion/sprint/vanish/ CB, which can save your ass.

I hope this answers your question Crazymonk

    Oh and thanks Devmode.

Edit: The only downside is that this spec depends much on the initial burst so in dungeon situations it sucks (haven't tryed it though but I assume it does).

Worst spec i´ve ever seen... Been playing a rogue for 3-4 years now and i would never ever specc like that.
    Just go Combat or Mutilate.

So i give you an alternative to the SS spamm and mutilate, which is at least as good as the other ones and you can't give any kind of constructive feedback. At least point out the reasons you think that it's the WORST spec you've ever seen.
Saying you've played a rogue for 3-4 years doesn't support your claim, you could just be an awful rogue who plays as other people tells him to and is afraid to test something new.
