And WotLK is shipped as dual-layer DVD, so there is no need for multiple CD's.
Sweet, hopefully this will help when I get my wotlk later tonight.![]()
This doesn't really make much sense,
I mean the maximum data rate of you cd / dvd rom is still the bottle neck here. You're saying copy to HDD to avoid the delay of the dvd rom while installing, but by copying to your HDD you are already going through the bottle neck. All this method seems to do is increase the amount of time spent, firstly copying to your HDD then you seperately install.
Yeah the install time if down but you've already wasted extra time copying from the disks.
Sorry I'd like to support your post but I can't actually see how this would help.
it does speed things up... but i dont see why it would be something you would wanna do... it takes like 10-30 mins to install from disc..
It doesnt take that long.. and my computer is <insert word for waste here>. It took me about a day to install BC and WoW. But, only about 20-10 mins for Wotlk.
Im getting map file errors idk why!
Yep, I did the same thing.
i used the WoWinstall.exe from the site and it took only like 30 mins to install
They look up and shout save us...
and I'll whisper no...
This thread fails, consider you have a SATA DVD ROM and some hard disk that was build this decade, you're not SAVING time. Maybe if you had IDE setup on the same channel you may have some performance problems.
