    Custom Icons

    Custom Icons
I am honesty not sure if anyone has made this topic before, but my friend showed me how to do it about a month ago, and I have been having a ton of fun with it ever since. It is a widely known fact that when playing World of Warcraft, the mind actually plays a trick on the eyes. Typically, instead of reading a moves information on the side, since the game is so fast-paced, our minds actually recognize the designated icon and it fits it with the specific moved tailored to that icon. Nevertheless, the fun part about this is that you can stop looking at those icons wondering how hemorrhage looks like a teardrop of blood and just make your own icon. Now this only works with Macros, but if you just follow these simple steps, you will be customizing your icons in no time at all.

    Step 1.
What you need to do is go ahead and Right-Click on the image below and hit Save Image As... and name it whatever you would like.
NOTE: The format of this image is a .PNG which means that it maintains it's transparency and can be displayed on webpages as such.

    Step 2.
Now I am not sure if GIMP, or PAINT, or PAINTSHOP PRO, etc. have a .TGA extension, but Photoshop does specifically, and that is the program that we will be using for the this tutorial. But before that, lets go ahead and make this part easy for everyone Go ahead and Open your World of Warcraft Folder then go to Interface folder Right Click and go to New and click on Folder. Proceed to Name the folder Icons. Now for the fun stuff...

    Step 3.
Now open up your Border file in Photoshop and press SHIFT + CTRL + N, you should now have a new layer called "Layer 2" on your right side toolbar. Now really the matter of design is up to you, but whatever you do, just have fun and be creative, the actual icon is now up to you, I cannot help with that part, but I will show you some of my examples below.

After you are done with your design, you just need to click Save As and go to your Icons folder. Then you need to name the file and make sure that you make the file extension .TGA which is a Targa file extension commonly used in gaming decals and such. Reload World of Warcraft, go into your macro icon area, search, and you should see your icon in there.

    End of story

This is better than the older post, as you made the action bar button frame so we can make it looking like a normal blizz button ^^+Rep
