SPECS
1. Raid Spec
I have personally tried this spec, it works wonders for raids/instances. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PVP, although this does major damage, It makes you squishier than ever, an easy target for rogues/warriors. This spec utilizes damage to its max, with minimal survivability. I dont have the best gear, but i crit for 5k with shadowbolt/incerate.
The build: 0/21/40
I will start from the upper left most talent, work right, then go down one row
DEMONOLOGY: 1, 2, 5, 0, 0, 3, 0, 1, 3, 3, 2, 0, 0, 1, 0 END
DESTRO: 5, 5, 5, 0, 0, 0, 5, 1, 2, 2, 3, 0, 0, 1,3, 0, 3, 0, 0, 5 END
2. PVP/Soloing Spec (SL/SL)
Before I went to my raiding spec, i soloed and PVP'd a lot, so one of my guild members recommended this to me as a spec, it worked wonders. This spec utilizes survivability with medium damage. This spec relies on the Siphon Life for constant health regeneration, and Soul Link, for decresed damage to the caster. This spec is also very good for farming, as it allows multiple pulls with minimal damage intake.
The build: 25/36/0
AFFLICTION: 0, 5, 0, 1, 2, 2, 0, 5, 1, 2, 2, 3, 0, 1, 1 END
DEMONOLOGY: 2, 0, 5, 0, 0, 3, 0, 1, 3, 3, 2, 5, 0, 1, 0, 0, 5, 2, 1, 3 END
3. Leveling Spec
I did this while I was leveling, and i never had a problem and could solo just about anything. Just go straight Demonology until you hit 70, then go into the more advanced specs.
The build: Straight Demonology
DEMONOLOGY: Full demo 'till 70
TIPS
1. As a warlock, you get the wonderful amenity of Life Tap, and you need to utilize it, I don't ever buy drinks, just food, if you have food, you have mana. You should never have to drink again as soon as you get life tap. I didnt take a single drink between 50-70
2. Fear is wonderful... for PVP, never use in PVE unless told to do so otherwise by the tank.
a) If you are getting raped by a warrior or rogue in battle grounds, use NOOB COIL (Death Coil), This spell is an instant cast fear with about a 5m CD. If you are SL/SL, then if your CD isnt up on Noob Coil, then you can easily take down a rogue or warrior. After noob coil is cast, fear, then DoT.
3. Warlocks are NOT defensive classes, warlocks are for Offense, unless of course you are in an AV BG, then you can camp on top of one of your towers and spam Seed of Corruption when they breach.
4. If you are having trouble choosing between scryer and aldor, and no one will help you... Go scryer, it is the DPS faction to choose. All warlocks should go scryer.
5. ALWAYS Soulstone the healer, if you dont, and you wipe, people will probably flame you, and if your like me, you don't like to get flamed.
6. Gear: For PVP specs, utilize resil and stamina, more health = more suvivability. In a PVE scenario, you will want to MAXIMIZE your spell damage, get as much as you can.
7. Stats-I don't care what you hear, a warlock does NOT need intellect and spirit. Of course you will have some with the gear you get, but it is not neccessary. Especially if you are a PVE spec, once you are running low on mana, Life tap + Siphon Life, you will regain both bars, (mana and health), very near full. Like I said before, utilize stamina, because your health is your mana.
Hope this guid helped for all you other warlocks out there, have fun!!
