[Acc sale] How not to get scammed!

Hi, this is the second part in my acct selling series.

Now, before you think these tips are 100% guaranteed to be safe i want to inform you that they are NOT. They will most likley work most of the times, but i cannot guarantee that there is a scammer out there that is smarter, or just lucky, than what i am, or you are.

First of all, i would like you to do a VERY simple background check on the person you are going to sell your account to. If his paypal is unverified, he joined mmowned or md the day before the purchase he might not be the best of customers. Also, setup your paypal NOT to accept creditcard payments as theese can very easily be withdrawn, we will cover how to keep money on your paypal acct later on in this thread where i also will explain briefley why creditcards belongs to enemies, not your friends.

Now first off, take a well respected site to sell your accts on, i'm afraid i only know one and that is in swedish, but take a large legit trading site where it costs to advertise, why you wonder, well it tend to intrest abit larger quantity of serious buyers and a slightley lower % of scammers, yet there are a majority of scammers i'm sure.

Now your add is up and you have to wait, isnt there anything you might want to do in the meantime ? Yes there is, plan your acct trade, are you willing to travel, or is there anything special you are sure that you must sort before trading to raise your own level of security ? Then now is the time to do it.

Now you hopefuly have been contacted by a few potential buyers, now check if anyone wanted to pay quite a large chunk extra than what you asked for, i.e if you ask for 350$ and he wants to pay 600$ the chances are that this person is a scammer looking for a quick account to trash. Now, don't bother about replying and just delete that message. Also, if someone is trying to get lower than what you said, discuss the matter with the person, if he or she sounds intelligent, and if you are too, you should more then likley be able to dectect if this person is a scammer or not.

The trade, now, you've made the deal and now you have to execute a watertight strategy that involes you being unable to get scammed.

    Step one.
Talk over the phone or if possible meet up at a internet café and walk home to your customer if that is possible, that way, if he scams you, you know where he lives and can confront him face to face. And make sure that he is aware of that you have dealt with scammers and you know most of their tricks, but don't be onto him about you being "scam proof", that might intimidate the customer or make him pissed of ultimatley scamming you anyway.

Now, it's time for the payment, if you have met irl, this part is simple and can be written in one word, cash!.
If not, this is one of the more tricker parts to avoid a scammers foul tricks, this is where the anti-creditcard policy comes in, well if he wish to pay via a credit card he can go to the bank the next day and there is not chance in hell that you will ever see a cent of thoose money again. Now you might be thinking "Hey, he can get his money back on paypal aswell". Yes he can, but i read in some topic here on mmowned, (credit to that author i cant find the specific topic atm =/). Once he's put the money into your account, open a dispute about that money, then cancel it and you've become immune to disputes, i have personally not tried this but according to people on mmowned it should work.

Now hand over all the details, and enjoy the money you've got from selling your account.

If you read my other topic, http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-gu...nts-value.html you have proably got alot safer and alot richer than if you hadn't read any part of my series, i hope you enjoyed and any day i will post the last part of this series.

And please only constructive critisism, that being no flaming please.

    Need more info on :

"Once he's put the money into your account, open a dispute about that money, then cancel it and you've become immune to disputes, i have personally not tried this but according to people on mmowned it should work."

    Anyone can elaborate on this?

I did all of that and he still scammed me. Yes, if they open a dispute, and close it, they will not be able to open another one on the payment they sent you. But, they can still re-call the money because that is what he did to me and took the account. +rep
