Ok, here is a small guide on how to get some great XP before u do any quests in northrend, The purpose of this is to get a bit of a head start before u move into northrend.
Quests, Quests, Quests.
On my main i have not done this but i have done this on 2 of my 70 alts, What you want to more, not now but nearer the time of WOTLK, Delete all quests you know youll never get round to completeing, 18-20 is the best number, For my example, on ym 2 alts i have completed about 13 netherstorm quests and 7 quests in BEM, DO NOT HAND THEM IN, Now Once you have 20 quests completed, You still have 5 spots free for dailys/what ever.
The purpose of this is, When the WOTLK release date is annoced, the night before park your char in the netherstorm inn, soon as you have upgraded your account, hand all the 20 quests in, if there yellow, you could be looking at say 50% of your xp bar ( complete guess, tho from 69-70 quests in netherstorm were worth 3-5% xp ) This gives you a massive advantage as you can hand them all in within 15 mins.
The "prepare" to hand in
Now, since you can only hold 20 quests max, that doesnt stop you completeing quests before you have them, A prime example of this, The mana remainents quests in quel'thas, The quests requires 4 dust, but you can hold more. So the night before wrath, Collect an additional 4, This also goes for the keys you get off the naga, Thats another 2 quests within 2 mins, And there are many many quests like this that you can buy/gather the quest items before or after youve done the quests, look around!
Rested Xp
Now this might be common knolage i dont really know, But if you buy wrath and upgrade your account make sure you leave you toon in an inn, As you can get about 10% rested during the night. Also, When your questing in wrath, after a long quest run, OR before a boss mob quest, allways walk into an inn, then walk back out, the mob is worth double xp but people dont do this i imagine because people forget.
BE PREPARED!
My last tip is the most useful to us all, when the release dats of wrath is annoced, 2 or more weeks before release, stockpile items that will help to level, if your an engineer start stockpileing grenades, if your an alchemist just remeber its likely the potions that are good at 70 wont be at 80 so make sure to have a good stockpile of healing/mana pots for leveling, again everyone should have around 300 food/water, And 300 bandages. If you dont want to keep remebering to bu this or buy that, remeber to stockpile youll thank yourself later on.
Another major thing i must stress, The night before wrath completely clear your bags, have every possible slot free as youll be picking up new stuff and theres nothing worse than deleteing things worth gold for better things.
Be in the spot
if your not going to complete 20 quests, be at the place to go to northrend, for allience its stormwind docks, for horde i dont think anyone knows i imagine orgrimmar purely guessing there will be a zepplin as there is a spare zepplin port at the place where we get the zeps to UC ect.
Last small tips.
-Make sure all your gear is repeaired and ready.
-If your a warlock make sure you have 30 shards ready
-if your a hunter make sure you have ammo and pet food ready
-if your a mage, make sure you have portal stones.
and my final tip, Make sure your addons and UI is all ready to enter northrend.
I hope this helps someone.
