How to not be stupid on the MMOwned Forums

Well, after some time of leeching / finally getting enough rep to get out of my leacher status, I decided to make a post, not about WoW exactly, but about the MMOwned community.

I have read more than my fair share of bulls%$& posts and worthless comments, and offer a little advice to those going into the forum community... 6):


The Thread Starter:


1.) Make a CLEAR title (nothing is more useless than a title that does not explain the exploit / post)

2.) Don't "buff up" your title name to make it more appealing, if your post is worth anything... it WILL be read, and you will get credit for it.

3.) Use numbers, bullets, anything to orginize your page, if it takes a reader 5 times to read your jumbled f%$&ed up paragraph of text (aka. Wall of text) you should redo it!

4.) Don't ask for rep.. seriously... 6):

5.) Try and use correct grammar / spelling. The more "professional" your post looks, the better.

6.) Answer questions, and be clear and precise when answering questions, nothing is worse than a poster that sends his thread into the slaughterhouse and leaves it there (if it works, defend your damn post from flamers!)

7.) Sharing is good... Stealing IS NOT... theres a big line between the two... don't be stupid.6):

8.) Use the search name function, with MULTIPLE names... to check if its really a repost.

9.) Pictures and videos are nice, but unneccesary if you have done a good job with your post. If asked for, go ahead and post a picture or so... It might lead to +rep. (excludes exploration... all of your posts should have them)


The Reply... (The thread starter's worst enemy, or best friend)


1.) If you have something to say... SAY IT...

2.) Questions? READ the comments, maybe your question was answered.

3.) Still not answered? POST IT, be clear and precise.

4.) If the poster did a good job, you approve of the post and exploit, say "good job *soandso*" and maybe even add in a +Rep if you feel like it, don't be shy.

5.) Flamers... unless its an excruciatingly bad post, go and play WoW... your not wanted.

6.) If you know of the exploit, don't go "OMG OMG OMG OMG... OMG OMG, ****ING REPOST OMG **** POST-RE WHA REPOST OMG OMG OMG NOOB OMG" simply... find the post... and paste the think into the reply and say... "Repost *link filler*"

7.) Try and keep on topic, for god sakes.

8.) Try and use correct spelling / Grammar, its even appreciated in the replies.

9.) If its old, and common sense... let the poor guy down nicely... especially if he is a leecher.

10.) Report idiots.

Additions:

1.) Don't always assume something works or is true based off of the OP's post, read most of or the entire thread to see what other people say before you comment. -The Maffyx

And there you have it, common sense for those who are too dumb to have any. Seemed like an original guide to me, so i gave it a whirl... FEEL FREE if you feel like you have to, to flame, report, or ban me, BRING IT ON. Hope that this small list of advice has helped some little nooblette out there, and if anyone has anything they would like to add, just put it into a comment.

I think its in the rules not to flame at all and to troll, so there is no "unless".

WoW is what MMOwned is all about, and what helps mmowned posters helps us with wow. So indirectly it is a WoW Guide.
