    [Guide] Change you IP address

This guide will show you how to change your IP address.

[Computer connected directly to the modem]
    1. Press Start, run, then type in "cmd" without quotes.
    2. Then a black window should pop up, type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes)
    3. Type "ipconfig /renew" (without quotes)
    And you're done.

[Computer connected directly to the modem, second option]
    1. Press Start, run, then type "cmd" without quotes.
    2. Type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes)
    3. Shut down/Turn off your computer, Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches.
    4. Turn off cable/DSL modem.
    5. Leave overnight, Then turn everything back on.

    [Network with Router]
    1. Log into the router's admin console. (Often http://192.168.1.1/)
    2. Release the IP address (Method varies by router manufacturer)
    3. Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem.
    4. Leave off overnight, then turn everything back on.

These will not work in all cases. If all else fails, you can contact your internet service provider (ISP) and ask them if they are able to change your IP address or how long your your connection needs to be off for your IP address to change.
    Good Luck!

Re: [Guide] Change you IP address

There is an easier way. go in to run type cmd or cmd.exe(what ever one you prefer) when in cmd.exe type ipconfig /release then after that type ipconfig /renew. There you go your ip should be changed or at least for me it changes it.

Another way to Change your IP:

    1. Press Start, run, then type in "cmd" without quotes.
    2. Then a black window should pop up, type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes)
    3. Go to start -> My computar
    4. Hit the up button so your at your desktop
    5. Then right click on "My network Places" Then hit properties
6.Then click on Local Area connection, right click and hit properties again
7.There should be 4 boxes with checks in them, find the one that says Internet Protocal, click on it and hit properties
    8. Then hit "use the following Ip adress", then fill up the first row with 2's or any number, then let the second row auto fill, then fill the third with 2's or w/e, then hit "ok"
    9. Now go back into internet protocal and then click on
Obtain Ip adress automaticly , then bam you have a new IP adress

PS: Dunno if Internet Protocal is on all computars are not, so you might wanna check before you do this
It's true, I pwn faces irl

Re: [Guide] Change you IP address

Well, i spoke some weeks ago with my ISP due to my internet was acting weird..

So i called them, and a little note i still remember of it was::
"If you don't have your computer online for 3 days / 72 hours, your IP address will be updated and changed to a new, this is due to we don't want to "disconnect" people of the internet while they are doing something".

Re: [Guide] Change you IP address

There is a way to change your IP even if you are on a static one. Your ISP assigns your ip directly based on your visible MAC adress, which is basically an IP adress for hardware which lets the server distinguish from the exact same types of hardware being ran by different people. If you're using a router you can change your IP in minutes. Simply go into your router settings and there should be a spot in the settings where it says "MAC adress clone", basically a script implemented into the router that gets the MAC from the current computer connected to it and makes it its own.
The MAC is in 6 parts, XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX, which is in hexadecimal. This means you can use anything 0-9 and A-F. Simply change your router's MAC adress from, say 00:0F:54:32:2F:11 to 00:0F:54:32:2F:10. You can change more than one number but changing one is enough to get a completely different IP adress. After you have saved these settings simply unplug/plug your router, once it is done starting up your ISP's network will seem to have a never-before-seen MAC adress connecting to it, and it will assign it a new IP, because the only way it can differentiate between networks and users is the MAC adress. In that sense, IP's are never stored based on account but they are stored based on the MAC values.

lolz, all computers connected to the internet have internet protocols, this is abbreviated to IP. IP address hence is Internet Protocol address. Assuming you are on this site YOU HAVE AN IP!
Another way not to get caught from IP addresses is using a proxy. For a simple PHP proxy simply go to www.leauberto.net/proxy and type in the desired internet address in the bar on the top. There are plenty of other proxy sites if you just look around. Myself I can't do that much because work has blocked most the sites including MMOwned now so I can only come on at home :'( But if you are good you can prolly find hundreds of proxys to hide your IP

Re: [Guide] Change you IP address

Isn't changing your IP illegal or something? Wouldn't changing your IP unable the police of monitoring your PC and finding you if you go to an illegal site? Not that -I- am ever going to do that, just curious.
