This guide will show you how to change your IP address.
[Computer connected directly to the modem]
1. Press Start, run, then type in "cmd" without quotes.
2. Then a black window should pop up, type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes)
3. Type "ipconfig /renew" (without quotes)
And you're done.
[Computer connected directly to the modem, second option]
1. Press Start, run, then type "cmd" without quotes.
2. Type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes)
3. Shut down/Turn off your computer, Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches.
4. Turn off cable/DSL modem.
5. Leave overnight, Then turn everything back on.
[Network with Router]
1. Log into the router's admin console. (Often http://192.168.1.1/)
2. Release the IP address (Method varies by router manufacturer)
3. Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem.
4. Leave off overnight, then turn everything back on.
These will not work in all cases. If all else fails, you can contact your internet service provider (ISP) and ask them if they are able to change your IP address or how long your your connection needs to be off for your IP address to change.
