With the Fury build, you will want to be using two One-Handed weapons. Put the next point into Dual Wield Specialization, then builds towards a traditional build.

Gearing your warrior

Strength is your most effective attribute while leveling. It will help you dramatically in every aspect of your development, including soloing and tanking. Strength is the number one attribute to focus on, and this does not change at any point before level 60.

Critical Strike is also very effective. While it must be coupled with Strength to maximize your potential damage, items with good Critical Strike do not come until the late 40's if I recall correctly. When you start picking up Critical Strike items, you want to reach 18-20% crit percentage as soon as possible, then expand on that as you head towards 70. One pitfall to Crit is that it gives you a perception that you are doing more damage than you are -- if you give up too much Strength for Crit, you will wind up doing less actual damage, even though you'll get flashy numbers.

Agility is most effective pre-40. Agility is never a bad attribute, and will often be found paired with Strength. However, there are items which offer combinations of Agility and other stats that are not as effective for Warriors as they would be for, say, Rogues.

Stamina is a core stat you will want to develop, but much of your gear will have Stamina on it, and you will not need to put too much effort into it. As you get closer to the Outlands, be sure to start picking up tanking gear with higher Stamina and Defense on it.

Finally, be sure you are picking up at least two sets of gear -- one for damage and one for tanking.

Important tips

---- Defensive Stance (Level 10) ---

The first thing you need to do is find the quest. These will usually be located in the second starter village of your race.

Once you complete this quest you will learn Defensive Stance. A must have for when you have to tank an instance

Tanking is the act of keeping creatures attached to you and controlling fights. Usually this involves wearing a shield, but again, at lower levels it isn't necessary. There are plenty of good places to read more about this.

---- Berserker Stance (Level 30) ---

The quest to get Berserker stance starts at a warrior trainer. You will have to go to an island southeast of rachet and fight against some random NPCs. At the end you will fight a lvl 33 he is easy to solo shouldn't be a big problem. The quest is pretty easy but it can be a bit nasty for a level 30 warrior.

Use Demoralizing Shout on people you fight. Try it!

It's optional to go into the resto tree first, because some people want furor, naturalist, and omen of clarity. I highly recommend going into feral first because Feral Swiftness makes you go 30% faster, and this will save you tons of travel time. If you insist on going into the resto tree early, go feral until level 30, then respec getting your resto talents, then continuing into the feral tree. This is a good idea because you'll still get extra run speed 20-30, and now you have travel form.

1-10 is horrid. I'll just say that now. It's even worse if you're a night elf, because their starting area sucks, and druids have only caster form. 10-20 is pretty bad, but not nearly as bad as 1-10, and after you get cat form you'll kill things MUCH faster, and you'll run faster. So level your druid to 20 before you give up on him.

If you really want to go resto, don't. It's not very good for leveling. Balance is ok, but wait until level 40 if you really want to because you'll get moonkin form, a mount, and innervate.

Gearing your druid

The stats you'll want (in this order) are: agility, stamina, strength. You'll also want agility over attack power because of Heart of the Wild.

Important tips

---- Attack rotation ---
1-10: Wrath moonfire, wrath, wrath, etc.
10-20: Maul in bear form. Over, and over, and over.
20-35: Tigers fury *wait for energy to hit 100* ravage. Rake, claw, (keep clawing until you're at 4 combo points), Rip.
36-49: Pounce, faerie fire, shred, rake, claw, rip, claw until 4 combo points and rip.
50+: Pounce, mangle, faerie fire, shred, mangle, rip, mangle until 4 CP and rip.

---- Tauren vs. Night Elves: ---
If you're judging purely on mechanics and not appearance or horde / alliance, keep reading.

Tauren have:
Warstomp
+5% health
+15 Herbalism

Nightelves have:
Shadowmeld
+1% dodge
Wisp Spirit

Warstomp is very useful for getting off that regrowth, or stopping that heal, but shadowmeld allows you to eat + drink safely, and gives a +1 stealth level to your prowl. I would take shadowmeld over this, but then again I don't know warstomp's usefulness because I don't have a tauren over level 10.

+5% health is way better than 1% dodge imo. Not much to say here.

If you want to be a herbalist, then the +15 is better, if not, then the wisp spirit is better.

It's pretty close for me, but Shadowmeld is very useful, and will be used with any spec, and an extra stealth level allows you to be more sneaky. For appearance, I think NEs have better looking forms. I guess the deciding factor is if I would want to play horde or alliance, since they are so similar.

---- Bear Form (Level 10) ---

You can finally get your first form! Go to the druid trainer in either Darnassus or Thunderbluff to get started on the quest. Go here for the quest chain, and places with coordinates.

Hunter

The first thing you must accept before leveling a hunter, Beast Mastery is the most efficient talent build to level, not marks, not survival. The second thing is, hunters rarely melee, and the only time you should melee is if you are forced to, and usually a pet with growl trained is enough to keep aggro off of you, if growl fails, then use intimidation if you are level 30+. If you do get into melee range, use melee until your pet receives aggro again, then back away 5 yards and continue to ranged.

I know Joana used a lot of melee while leveling, but that was before 2.3, where hunters had a terrible deadzone. Now that they have removed the Hunter deadzone, it is easier to get back into ranged when a mob gets close to you, and makes sure you don’t waste any melee or ranged while moving inbetween the 2.

Here’s a talent build I would use to level to 70 if I could do it all over again, I foolishly leveled as Marksman on my first hunter, I am in the process of leveling a new Orc Hunter with this talent build, and so far it Is very fast and efficient.

While leveling try and stick with one pet – a ravager. Ravagers are the best DPS pet in the game, if you cannot get your hands on one without going completely out of your way, go with a cat. I suggest taming the pets Joana mentions in the guide, but only the ones she/he tames for new abilities. Keep up highest rank growl, bite, gore and dash at all times, and set them up in this order on your pet bar – dash>growl>bite>gore.

Also try and make macros to make things simpler for you while playing. Here’s a small sample of what you could do at a lower level if you are a troll or orc.

I suggest you either keep this macro separate from the plain, old auto shot, or replace the plan auto shot with this macro, and then If your attacking a mob at less than full health, you can tap arcane or serpent sting to prevent wasting cooldowns. Just always start on a mob with that macro. Keep in mind you can add trinkets in, you may have to take out the unnecessary parts in the macro though. Sush as the /script UIErrorsFrame:Hide() or the #showtooltip Auto Shot – these are simply luxuries.

If you are having trouble with making the macro’s just forget about it, you’ll just end up waisting time. If you don’t have a fair amount of knowledge on how to create a macro you could always consult someone, though the process is very simple.

For pets, to make sure they have the most recent attacks etc consult this site - TKA Something - A World of Warcraft Hunter's Resource

At level 61, when you get Steady Shot, you should start spamming a Steady Shot / Auto Shot macro, later adding kill command into the macro. Create these two macros minus the blood fury or berserker if you are not a troll or orc.

Those trinket slots are if you have trinkets such as bladefist’s breadth that give attack power, haste, or any sort of offensive benefit for a period of time by clicking the trinket.

The second macro should be this –

After hitting the first macro, proceed to spam the second macro, until the target is dead. Once you have this ability, no longer use arcane shot or serpent sting unless kiting the target. You should only use Multi Shot When firing upon multiple targets. This rotation will ensure the best DPS and mana efficiency while grinding, and will also ensure steady DPS in instances and endgame, with hardly any effort.

When you get Kill Command make sure to add this in between /castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, Auto Shot and /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show() –

Last but not least…the stats.

You’re going to want agility over anything else. .90 agility=1.1 crit=2 attack power is the base equivalence for DPS stats. Stam and hit rating can be weighed differently, depending on if your leveling, how much hit rating you already have, etc etc. Stamina could either be very helpful, or very useless. It depends on whether you get hit a lot, which if you play your cards right, should happen rarely if you let your pet hold aggro.

Keep in mind not is this build and these macros very effective while leveling, but also very effective when raiding, and can top dmg meters in BG’S if you play your cards right and make sure to stay out of sight from the other DPS, this spec can make you somewhat of a glass cannon in PVP.

3. After gathering, stop and cast Ice Block
4. Wait until they all crowd around you, then cast Frost Nova (Out of Ice Block)
5. Then Blink or Run away!
6. Turn around, cast Blizzard twice
7. Slow mobs down with Cone of Cold
8. Frost Nova (Be prepared for a Cold Snap, and a re-Frost Nova)
9. Gain Distance (Blink or Run)
10. Final Blizzard
11. Wand or Cone of Cold any possible survivors

Warlock

What is Draintank?

Tank in instances means you’re gonna tank a mob in order to prevent it from hitting your party members. You’ll be doing that, except you will find it easy due to skills like ‘Drain life’ which drains back all of your lost health from tanking and from ‘Life Tap’which turns your mana into your health. In this way, you won’t run out of mana.

Gears

You don’t need any specific gears to drain tank, But if you’re a tailor,look out for the Shadoweave set. Its probably the best set of equipment for you to drain tank from level 40-49.If you’re not a tailor,look out for equipments that has +spell dmg and stamina on it. Basically you don’t have to worry about Intel since you have life tap. So the more spell damage you have, the more life you drain, the more life taps you can makeJ

How Do You Draintank?

Here’s how i usually drain tank. I usually have my succy (succubus) out since it has the highest dps out of all pets in until level 49.Here’s my way of draintank

1st.Curse of Agony>Corruption>siphon life
2nd.Life tap
3rd.Drain Life.
4th.If the mobs has around 15%-20% hp left, let succy finish the mob off while you search for another mob and rinse and repeat the steps above. Stop at around 5 mobs
5th:After fighting around 5 mobs, spam dark pact so that you’ll be at full mana.
In this way, You’ll almost never have to drink or eat again

Talent Build

Now this is the actual build I used for my warlock. Im taking Demonic Embrace here because you won’t be squishy at the same time you’ll sacrifice nothing because spirit is worthless to you if you’re drain tank. You will not be sitting drinking/eating drinks and foods. The other talents should be simple. I took em in order to get Dark Pact. I took Improved Healthstones because during my experience, I found out that the instances from level 50 and above are gonna damage u a lot. These Healthstones could be lifesavers. It saved me countless number of times.

At this point, you should respect to Demonology.Why?1 thing. Felguard.This pet can tank better than VoidWalker and deals more dps than Succubus. At first it might be slow for you leveling wise, but you have to get used to it. Its a completely different type of technique than Drain Tank. Be Patient. It’ll pay off. This is what your talent build should look like after you respecced. It doesn’t matter in which order you take this, as long as you get to summon felguard after spending all 40 points.

After that, you could choose which build to go for. If you’re looking for a slower but less mana consuming build, go for affliction. If you want some heavy dps, but don’t mind the all the drinking you have to do, go for Destruction.

Focus on Wands and staves the whole game. Some might say 1h+off is better but personally I think staves is way better because the difference in stamina is a no-brainer.

Even though I said draintanking means you don’t have to drink or eat at all, just bring some incase. You might pulled 1 or too many mobs than you wanted.

If you don’t like Succy, you could use your imp. You’ll get a lot of stamina from his buff and imp has an awesome mana regeneration so you’ll get spam dark pact more times than not. Remember to keep your imp on passive though.

Remember though, you’ll get to start drain tank when you’re at least level 30.This is because at lower levels, you wont have enough +spell dmg from your gears for you to fully drained back all the healths you’ve lost from life tap.

Please do Remember that Lifetap is to replace lost mana from using drain life. If you’re mana is not low enough, dont use it because you are wasting your health.

Use “Drain Soul” when finishing a mob in order to gain the Improved Drain Soul bonus, which is 15% of your maximum mana being returned.

Remember that this is a LEVELING technique. Which means that this build is designed for you to drain tank NORMAL mobs. You Do not I repeat DO NOT drain tank in instances. There are classes designed to do such jobs such as Warriors etc.

Paladin

What I would consider a pretty good talent tree for leveling a Paladin. Ok as this might not be the exact way I placed my talents this is as pretty close as I would be able to get if I did them over again. Congrats you are now level 70. This leveling process with the paladin took place after the 3rd time leveling a paladin to 70 using this guide. I found this the best talent specs to get to level 70 with the paladin.

Gearing your priest

stack as much spirit as possible. Combined with spirit tap and the ability to shield/heal yourself, you should never have any downtime between single controlled fights EVER. Secondary stats include stamina and int with no priority of either over the other. Also try to keep your wand up to date with as much DPS as possible.

58-70
stack as much spell damage as possible with some extra interest in stamina (outlands is a bit nasty). Don't worry about int as much at this point because the more damage you do = the more mana returned through vamp touch. This means spell damage is better than spirit, but still try to retain a reasonable amount of spirit. Wands do not matter as much at this point so try to get best-stat wands.

Rogue

This mini-guide to rogues will discuss rogue leveling and preparing for
rogue endgame pvp.

Abbreviations:
imp - Improved
spec - specialization
CP - combo point
IP - Instant Poison

SnD - Slice and Dice

T4 2pc - 2-piece tier 4 (Netherblade) set bonus
xa/yb - general combo point cycle format. x and y are numbers,
indicating the number of combo points used, a and b are finishers. EG
eviscerate is e, rupture is r, kidney shot is k, envenom is v, s is
Slice and Dice. EG:
1s/5r - 1 CP, Slice and Dice, 5 CP, Rupture. CP can be attained in any
way (mutilate, sinister strike, backstab, hemo.)

The two most important talents are Relentless Strikes and Dual Wield
Specialization. For the combat combat build used here Improved Slice and
Dice, Blade Flurry, Weapon Expertise, Aggression, Adrenaline Rush,
Combat Potency, and Surprise Attacks, and an appropriate weapon
specialization are mandatory. Sinister Strike builds must have Improved
Sinister Strike.

Hemo builds have a large number of optional talents, with mandatory
talents being Serrated Blades and Hemorrhage. All PvE-focused builds
should have the same 11 initial points in Assassination: Malice,
Ruthlessness, Murder, and Relentless Strikes. Remaining points are spent
in Lethality, then Vile Poisons.

Leveling talent build:
10-11: Improved Sinister Strike 2/2
12-16: Malice 5/5
17-19: Ruthlessness 3/3
20-21: Murder 2/2
22: Relentless Strikes 1/1
Relentless strikes + Ruthlessness provides nearly as much energy as
Combat potency.
23-25: Lightning Reflexes 3/5
26-28: Improved Slice and Dice 3/3
You want to keep SnD up as much as possible. SnD is your greatest damage
increase. 1cp SnD can provide more damage than a 5 cp eviscerate.
29-33: Precision 5/5
34-35: Improved sprint 2/2 (Or Endurance 2/2)
36-40: Dual Wield Specialization 5/5
41: Blade Flurry 1/1
42-46: Weapon Specialization 5/5. Sword spec has the highest PVE dps.

4 points remain. I recommend Vile Poisons, but Opportunity works as well.

Your general cycle will be odd when grinding. I tend to Cheapshot the
mob, sinister strike, rupture, then slice and dice. If Ruthlessness
didn't proc then I'll SS before the rupture. This makes the cycle:
3r/1s/5s/5r. The mob generally dies before the SS runs out or I get
enough CPs for a rupture. If a mob reaches half health and you haven't
ruptured it yet, do so, rupture needs time in which to act. That said,
always try to rupture at 4 or more CP. The damage decreases
exponentially as the CPs drop. Avoid eviscerate and envenom, their dps
is not at all good. Kidney shot slows the kill down, but does let you
kill some harder mobs. Expose armor can be good vs hard-to-solo mobs
that don't hit very hard.

Many times in Joana's guide there are sections where the use of a pet to
distract a mob/tank is useful. Rogue has a few tricks to do the same thing:
Sap. This one is obvious, don't forget it.
Blind. 10 seconds of excellent crowd control. Use a mouseover blind
macro, such as:
/cast [target=mouseover] Blind
for greater utility.
Distract. Many mobs that seem to be in groups can be separated by
carefully placing the distract to only hit one of the mobs. If the group
is patrolling the rest will continue on and you can kill the distracted
mob once they get far enough away. Even if they are in fact linked the
extra second or so for them to run up is often enough to get a quick
kill with my build.

Be sure to get cooking to at least 60, this allows you to make Thistle
Tea once you do the quest to get the recipe. If you accidentally destroy
the recipe you can buy it from a vendor in the basement of Ravenholdt
manor, but you must complete the quest for it to show up.
I recommend picking the Duskbat Drape as the reward for the level 50
quest. The other two items become obsolete quickly, while the drape
stacks with your slow fall. With a method to quickly switch equipment it
becomes very useful in many situations, such as dropping off a flying
mount or getting from the Lumber Mill to the Blacksmith quickly in
Arathi Basin.

Pre-Raiding.
So, you want to raid as a rogue, eh? There are several talent builds
usable, but I'm only going to consider 2 of them:
Combat swords and Hemo+Swords. Hemo swords generally does about 5% less
personal dps than combat swords, but the Hemo debuff can offset that in
a raid. If your guild already has a Hemo rogue, spec Combat Swords. If
you don't want to use swords, expect to get passed over as your dps drops.


Combat Swords: Identical to the build given above. Improved Gouge can be
taken over Lightning Reflexes.
Hemo+Swords: 11/27/23 provides the best dps.

Cycles are the same for both specs: 5s/5r at low gearing, 3s/5r with 2
pieces of T4. 1s/5r becomes possible at very high gearing. Always aim
for 100% SnD uptime. SnD is more important than rupture. Eviscerate and
envenom are horrid, only use them when the mob is immune to rupture.

Gear selection:
Hit rating needed to never miss:
Auto-attack, 5/5 Precision: 363
Special, 5/5 Precision: 64
Untalented: 442 (Only really useful for calculating things, as you will
have 5/5 precision.)
Expertise needed to never be dodged:
Non-Human: 64
Human: 44
Assuming 2/2 Weapon expertise and using swords, of course.

Remember, 1%hit > 1% crit when below the hit cap. Hitting where you
could have missed can turn a miss into a crit, while more crit chance
can only turn a hit into a crit.

To compare 2 pieces of gear, I recommend the ItemValue addon. It lets
you assign weightings to each stat, then calculates the total value of
the gear piece.
We will set 1 Agi = 1 Agi Equivalence Point, or AEP. Everything else
will be calculated in relation to AGI.
General AEP Formula
1 AGI = 0.59 AP = 0.59 STR = 0.74 Crit Rating = 0.83 Hit Rating =0.95
Expertise Rating = 0.11 Armour Penetration = 0.68 Haste Rating
Hemo+Swords AEP Formula
1 AGI = 0.53 AP = 0.53 STR = 0.85 Crit Rating = 1.09 Hit Rating = 1.27
Expertise Rating = 0.15 Armour Penetration = 1.02 Haste Rating
Combat Swords AEP Formula
1 AGI = 0.5 AP = 0.5 STR = 0.88 Crit Rating = 1.14 Hit Rating = 1.26
Expertise Rating = 0.15 Armour Penetration = 1.08 Haste Rating.
Stamina, armour, etc, are effectively worthless. Don't draw aggro.

A slow main-hand and a fast off-hand are best. If you go Combat Swords,
a faster off-hand gives you more energy due to CP procs.

Shaman

Level 10: You first get your talent trees. They seem exciting and scary at the same time. What do you do with these strange trees? What talent spec do you choose?

Here are your options: Elemental, Enhancement and Restoration. First, if you are leveling your shaman to be a healer, do not level it restoration. Restoration is absolutely horrible for leveling unless you plan on having at least one person helping you. The restoration tree has some nice goodies, but it is designed for end-game healing and not for leveling.

So, that leaves two other trees for leveling: Elemental and Enhancement.

Enhancement is likely the more popular talent spec for leveling. Enhancement is a melee Shaman that specializes in hitting people up close in their face. So, if you like melee, up close and personal, then Enhancement is for you.

Elemental is nice for people who like spell-casting hybrids. While leveling, you are likely to still melee some, and you can’t really keep mobs at range. However, you like doing spell damage using your shock spells and lightning bolts, and if you get the chance in a group, you like to stand back farther casting from behind. If you like more ranged spell damage, then elemental is for you.

Keep in mind that talents are really a place for you to invest in the spells and abilities that you use the most. So, what you find as the best spec for you may be completely different from what I suggest here. Feel free to comment, as I take player suggestions seriously. However, this is what I found to work the best through my experiences.


Elemental Talent Spec (Or... So you want to be a caster)

Some argue enhancement is better and faster for Shaman. So, you can skip over this part if you have no interest in being elemental. However, I leveled my shaman this way, so I feel confident that it is possible (and rather easy) to level an elemental shaman. Others also argue that the early points in elemental end up being better at lower levels.

Level 10-14: Convection:
Reduces the mana cost of your shocks, lightning bolt, & chain-lightning spells. This is useful since at low levels you don’t have much mana. This gives you less downtime between killing things. I am a big fan of talents that reduce mana costs.

Level 15-19: Concussion:
Increases damage done for your shocks, lightning bolt, & chain lightning spells. This is nice since more damage means you kill things faster.

Level 20: Elemental focus:
Reduced mana cost after a critical spell. This helps give you more mana and is very useful in combination with other talents in the tree.

Level 21-25: Reverberation:
Reduces the cooldown of your shock spells. This helps you be able to use your shock spells faster, which means you do more damage. I mean, you did create a Shaman to be able to frost shock people, right? Just kidding! A lot of talent builds skip this talent, but I use my shock spells all the time, so why not make it useable faster? This may be less useful at high levels, but I find it very important for the way I level.

Level 26-30: Call of Thunder:
Increases your chance to get a critical strike with Lightning bolt and chain lightning. Since lightning bolt is your primary damage spell, this increased crit chance is important, and it unlocks a talent you will need later.

Level 31: Elemental Fury:
Increases damage done when you get a critical strike. Basically, instead of doing the typical 150% damage on a crit, it increases your damage to 200% of your normal (non-crit) damage. What the talent says is somewhat confusing, but it basically means your crits will now do twice your normal spell damage. (so a 500 damage spell now crits for 1000 instead of 750).

Level 32-34: Eye of the storm:
When you suffer a critical hit, you can cast without being interrupted for a few seconds. I find this useful for getting off heals or lightning bolts when I’m getting hit a lot when soloing. This may be less useful at high levels, but it is good for leveling.

Level 35-39: Lightning Mastery:
Reduces the casting time of your lightning bolt & chain lightning spells. Since you cast lightning bolt all the time, having a shorter casting time means it does more damage.

Level 40: Elemental Mastery:
When you cast this spell, your next spell costs no mana and has a 100% chance to crit. I love this spell, and I frequently use it when I get low on mana and the fight isn’t over yet. This has saved my life many times.

Level 41-43: Elemental Precision:
Increases your chance to hit with fire, frost, and nature spells. Having a higher hit percentage means you will miss fewer spells allowing you to kill things faster. There is nothing worse than dieing because you missed your damage spell.

Level 44: One point in Unrelenting storm:
Basically, you have to spend one point to be able to unlock the next talent, and I (personally) will go back and fill this in more later. You can put this one point in pretty much any other talent you want in this tree to unlock the next talent.

Level 45-49: Lightning Overload
When you cast your lightning bolt or chain lightning spell, you have a 20% chance of doing twice the damage (casting a 2nd spell of the same type for no extra damage). Basically, this is a nice extra bonus of doing extra damage randomly.

Level 50: Totem of Wrath
Gives you a fire totem that increases your spell hit and crit chance by 3% each.

Level 51: At this point, you have picked up all the talents I consider to be important in that tree. You have several options.

Option one: Fill out Unrelenting storm to increase your in-combat mana regen.
Option two: Invest 5 points in Enhancement to pick up Ancestral Knowledge (increase your maximum mana by 5%). You can skip this talent if you want to put more points in restoration.
Option three: Going straight into the restoration tree and pick up 20 points.
Improved Healing Wave: Reduces the casting time of your healing wave spell. This will make it easier for you to heal yourself as you are leveling.

Totemic Focus: Reduces the mana cost of your totems. Lower mana cost means that you have more mana left for doing real damage.

Totemic Mastery: Increases the range of your totems. There is nothing worse than running out of range of your totems all the time.

Nature’s Guidance: Increases your spell and melee hit chance. More hits means more damage, and you will be able to skip this stat on your gear for the most part if you have a ton of +hit from talents.

Tidal mastery: Increases the critical hit chance of your healing and lightning spells. So, lightning bolt and chain lightning have a higher crit chance. This is a nice talent if you go this far in the tree.

For PvP, ancestral healing or Healing focus may give you more survivability. You can switch out Nature’s Guidance or totemic focus if you are focusing on PvP instead of PvE, since you may need survivability talents more.

Enhancement Spec (or... so you want to do melee damage)

People call this the more efficient leveling spec. It is still a melee/casting hybrid, however the emphasis is more on the melee and less on the casting. You care more about having high weapon DPS, strength, and agility to do lots of damage and have lots of big critical strikes. The following is where you can invest your talent points to increase your melee damage and make leveling more fun.


10-14: Ancestral knowledge
Increases your maximum mana by 5%. A lot of builds take Shield specialization instead, but even as a melee shaman, having mana is important. If you are going to dual wield later on, you won’t have a shield, anyway.

15-19: Thundering Strikes
Increases your critical strike chance by 5%. Having extra crit is good, and it unlocks a talent you will need later.

20-21: Improved Ghost Wolf.
Reduces the casting time of your ghost wolf spell by 2 seconds. This will be the best way to get around until level 40 when you get your mount, so this talent will be really handy at least until you are 40.

22: Shamanistic Focus
After you crit in melee, your next shock spell has a reduced mana cost. This is nice for being able to throw out extra damage along with interrupts and slowing effects for less mana.

23-24: Improved Lightning Shield (2 points)
Increases damage done by your lightning shield orbs by 15%. You can put points somewhere else, but you have to spend two points to unlock the next tier in the tree.

25-29: Flurry
After you get a critical strike, your attack speed is faster for the next 3 swings. This goes nicely with the talent increasing your critical strike chance.

30: Spirit Weapons.
Gives you a chance to parry attacks and reduces threat generated by melee. Parry is an ability like dodge and block that prevents you from taking some damage.

31-33: Elemental Weapons
Increases damage done by your rockbiter, windfury, flametongue, & frostband weapon buffs.

34: One point Improved Lightning Shield
You have to spend one point to unlock the next tier. You can spend this maxing out imp. Lightning shield, or if you skipped that talent, put it wherever you want.

35-39: Weapon Mastery
Increases damage done with weapons by 10%. More damage is always better.

40: Dual wield!
Finally, you can hack and slash your opponents by equipping a weapon (instead of a shield) in your off-hand.

41-43: Dual Wield Specialization
Increases your chance to hit while dual wielding. You really need this talent since missing all the time is really not fun.

44: Stormstrike
Instantly attack with both weapons. Increases nature damage done by the next two spells cast on that target in 12 seconds.

45-47: Mental Quickness
Reduces mana cost of instant cast spells, and increases spell damage based off your attack power. Now, you may think “but I don’t cast spells!” However, if that were true you would be a warrior. You should be using your shock spells to do additional damage, interrupt casters, and slow movement speeds. Reducing the mana cost and increasing their damage is good.

48-49: Unleashed Rage (2 points)
Increased mele attack power buff for the group after you get a critical strike. This is a nice bonus for everyone in your party if you instance a lot, and is still nice when you are solo.

50: Shamanistic rage
Reduces damage done to you and gives you a chance to regenerate mana. This helps you a lot, so you should pick it up before you go back and finish...

51-53 Unleashed Rage
It's better to pick up SR at 50 and then come back to finish up this talent. )
