Best Mage Spec IMO

Best spec for a mage would have to be 57/3/11 great for damage, but mana is sometimes a problem if you can pay attention to your arcane blast debuffs.

Rotation that i use is

Arc Blast x3 (If Arcane Missile Barrage procs) > Arc Missiles (If not) > Arc Barrage > always ending with Fire Blast

Being sure to always use your buffs is good too and have mana pots just in case is also good.

Also some people may say the spell SLOW is no good, but recently almost all of the bosses take the debuff and with Torment of Weak its great for bonus damage. But you got to remember to keep it up >.>

Well, i said best IMO. I dont like Firefrost bolt because everyone uses it and its boring, hate frost because you really dont get alot of useful self buffs and the water elemental isnt that great. I like arcane because you have a wide variety in self buffs like Arcane Power, PoM and Ivy Veins. and you also have the 5% crit buff that you give to people and you get a bonus from it in return. Only thing thats no so great is it requires a little more hit than the rest which isnt that hard to get but it can skill mess up the rest of your %'s.

arcane requires the least amount of hit of the 3x viable raid specs 8% gear the rest you get from talents and raid buffs. arc does great dps because it does not have dots and the blast stack gives you great burst. but overall dmg from arcane lacks bad and the mana useage is a joke.

yes arcane is great in naxx and pre ulda but in ulda you will see ffb and fb/ttw pass you.

best raid spec for a mage hands down is fb/ttw but it requires the most hit. 14%+3% from raid buffs.

Yeah, your definitely totally wrong on your whole idea of Arcane. And Fireblast shouldn't be part of your rotation. It takes a whole GCD, and could be replaced with a AB or a PoM AB.

Arcane = Best talent spec for pre-ulduar
FFB = Ulduar best
Frost = Never.. Just gtfo if you think frost is a good raiding spec. I love it for leveling though =D

Depends if youre gonna pvp or pve. Eitherway i've both deep frost build. For pvp its good for cc, and pve well... also cc and farming ofc.

If u have much mana:
"Arcane blast" spam and if u have "missile barrage" buff use "arcane missile"
If u dont have much mana:
4x "Arcane Blast" and if u have "missile barrage" buff use "arcane missile". If u dont have "missile barrage" buff use "arcane barrage".

I've had better dps with the cookie-cutter fire build (LB -> Pyro -> FB) but ever since last patch I'm considering returning to Arcane, cutting a bit on the hit (worst stat ever)
currently using ABlast x4 (or until MBarr)
