heya i just wanted to post the talent specs i use for:
prot tanking
prot pvp(FTW!)
all with a little bit of explanation
acronyms list:
HotR: hammer of the righteous
SoR: shield of righteousness
HS: holy shield
judge: judgement(duh)
AS: avenger's shield
CD: cooldown
SoW: seal of wisdom
SoL: seal of light
JoW: judgement of wisdom
JoL: judgement of light
JoJ: judgement of justice
HoF: hand of freedom
HoJ: hammer of justice
SoJ: seal of justice
FoL: flash of light
SS: sacred shield
prot tanking spec:
i use this spec for normal tanking:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
i've used this spec for my own tanking and i think it has everything you will need for pally tanking but i'll still give some explanation
why seals of the pure?: well some people don't use it because they don't think it boosts your aggro much. well... i think it does especially if you use the glyph for HotR cause it makes the debuff stay up on 4 targets and 15% dmg is quite a bit of extra aggro from seal of vengeance alone over 4 targets then add the 90% bonus of righteous fury that's a lot of aggro from one talent imo
why pursuit of justice?: pursuit of justice is overall really nice because you can do bossfights where you have to move much more easy, you can pick up adds faster, you can do the safety dance easier, you can move out of flame wall at sarth faster, you can move out of voidzones faster and you can go faster than others on your mount without using crusader aura(useless but still nice=D)
i'll add a basic rotation for you guys
single target tanking: judge->SoR->HotR->AS if possible->consecrate and HS
multi target tanking: consecrate->HS->HotR->AS if possible->judge->SoR
these"rotations" are more just priorities so if AS gets off CD before judge in the single target rotation you should always just use it
prot pvp spec:
i use this spec for prot pvp Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
why prot pvp?:
prot pvp is not like most pvp it's a whole separate style from just about anything else. prot pvp is about survival, which means, just outlasting your enemy(s) by keeping yourself full on mana and throwing yourself heals whenever you can. it's basically about lasting until the cavalry arrives to kille them off. this means you won't be killing much.
what is prot pvp usefull for?:
prot in pv is very usefull for tanking the bosses in AV (and maybe the upcoming BG isle of conquest). they can also be used for defending in AB, WSG and EotS. they are also real good flag carriers because of survivability and HoF
now onto some explanation about the spec
why use reckoning?:
i use reckoning because it helps me a lot with surviving just by extra seal proccing. reckoning gives double attacks so if you need mana SoW+reckoning+joW=full mana pool
and SoL+reckoning+JoL is lots of health regen for the next 4 weapon swings. seal of vengeance stacks twice with one hit with reckoning.
why use judgement of the just AND improved HoJ?:
who doesn't want a 6 second stun/3sec interrupt on a 20sec CD?
rotation:
well since it's a pvp spec you don't have a real rotation i can give you some fighting tip though
first: that seals last 30 minutes DOES NOT mean that you should use them for 30 min a lot of people forget to switch seals when necessary for example if you need mana use JoW and if you really need mana use SoW too and if you're having trouble staying alive switch to SoL and JoL OR switch to full mana mode(SoW+JoW) and just heal whenever you can
and: remember sacred shield is your friend, always keep it up on yourself and throw yourself a FoL whenever you can when sacred shield is procced and your FoL's will heal for A LOT because of the 50% crit chance (and the 30% extra healing if FoL crits because of touched by the light)
then lastly i'll add a priority list
SS->heal whenever possible->judge->AS->HotR->SoR
thanks for being critted by this wall of text and i wish you all happy flaming!![]()
