well 3.1 will bring lots of changes, but here goes PVE specs:

discipline-heal: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
this one doesn't use shields, basic easy penance-healing on tank. i'd prefer this one for running naxx25 for first time. let the shamans do aoe healing imo. rapture gives loads of mana back and empowered healing makes penance really really cheap. mana shouldn't be your issue if raid works.

holy: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
this is totally arguable and someone prob. whines about this pretty soon. guardian spirit isn't best possible but as an instant cd-spell it can save raid from "stupid" wipe. if one goes to holy asap when 80, guardian spirit might be better one to take since i personally feel that holypriests run oom faster ( oh i'm so going to get flamed ).

Couldn't agree with Drou on the discipline specc, not improving the PW: Shield is fail on so many different levels. If you want to keep your raid/party alive, improve your shield, if you are only after being first on the healing-meter, go his specc.

Divine Fury in Holy is pretty much worthless, since you won't most likely not be casting greater heals.

For the healing, if you are healing the maintank you should penance, PW:S, PoM every CD and occasionally flash heal.

Raidhealing is harder as discipline, but predictable damage is pretty easy when you get the hang on it, casting PW: Shield on people you know will take full damage makes it close to mana-free and using prayer of healing + mending for the rest.

improved spirit doesn't work since shaman totem give more spellpower and spirit isn't cumulative. so it's just waste of 2 pts.

and yes. using shield in raid is good thing but these guys are just hitting 80 and going to need easy spec for raids. there will (should) be other healers already with gear who are doing the main job.
