Ontop of that most blizzard e-mails are sent from [email protected] and have a subname of Blizzard Entertainment.

Seriously you scam and you didn't know this? No offence but this is the oldest scam in the book, when I first got here everyone was using that exact scam.

Secondly you can just use a mailbomber to change what the address appears to be coming from.

Thirdly you can set it to have a reply to address, so those that fall for it will click reply and it will put their e-mail in the people to send it to and most people won't even notice cos they just assumed that when they reply to an @blizzard.com e-mail address it will send to an @blizzard.com e-mail address.

they probably use a self hosted webmail, set the reply adress to something else then set auto reply message

Dude, this is like.. the oldest scam around. Blizzard will Never ever ever ever ask you for your email. The @blizzard.com is very easy fakeable, the instant-reply doesn't say anything, if they do or do not give a link doesn't matter easy.

No offense, but if you just don't want to listen to the people posting here, and you didn't even know of this scam, how did you get purple?

So you reply. With your account details, for a scammer, no offense, i thought you could have thought of that.

I have gotten this 500~ times recently, and i dont even have a active retail account anymore. So dont worry.

I had same kind of situation and obviously thought it was a scam so i didnt reply.

I was out of gametime so it seemed pretty clear. So when i finally bought some gametime after my small break i couldnt log in and got the message as you did.

I definately recommend sending the information if you dont want to get your account permanently closed.
