I did that lol
the manager came out with the open box and shoved it right in front of my face and was like, can i help you with something. I'm like no, i'm fine, he's like you sure? I'm like yeah
he's like ok well we'll watch you walk out when he's at the sensor, it didn't ring, i threw the card out though hahaa
the card wont make it ring...ive stolen books from university book stores and college and cd's from stores its usually one sqaure piece with metal rings that are square shaped some itmes have 2 in them nothing else makes it ring besides that and i heard some shit about a strong magnet discharges it or something maybe you can find something on the net about it
They used to stick stickers on the card, now I didn't see any. But I just take an extra precaution in case a thing like this occurs in which they search me. I'm just worried they'll track me down or something, IDK how but it might be possible.
I understand that, but how is it possible they could find out? I doubt they would go to such lengths as fingerprint testing
Hahhaahahahahahahhahhahahahhahahhahahahhaahahahhahahahahhahaha
They won't do anything. There's nothing they can do. I used to work for an retail electronics store. I'll give you steps on how they actually catch someone.
For one, You MUST BE SEEN on the camera physically tampering/opening the box. Two: You MUST have stolen something from the box whether it be that number like you said or a booklet or something. Those 2 conditions must be satisfied.
What happend to you at Target is most likely this . . .
An Associate noticed you were opening a box or messing around with one. Or someone saw a box left behind and realized you were messing with it. However, they never actually got you on camera. So what they did was attempt to scare you into giving back what you stole. The manager was probably clueless on how the timecard worked (Code is only used). He was only trying to scare you. Often times this works. In fact, a month before I quit my job I had to help scare a few kids into giving back some games they stole. We didn't have them on camera so we couldn't convict them if we wanted to.
Once youre out the door they really cant touch you. They can call the police but by then your gone.
