This whole your busted thing really isnt true. Credit card companies and other buisnesses right off billions of dollars due to stolen credit cards and stuff. I ordered 1000 dollars worth o fmuay thai gear from a MT website in thailand and nothing at all happened.

I have heard over and over that credit card theft and what not isnt even investigated if its not significantly over 1000 dollars. Basicaly the company just writes it off andd their insurance pays for the loss. That being said does anyone have any experince with post boxes?

My cousin works for VISA, let me make this plain and simple for you.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE COMMIT CREDIT CARD FRAUD!

If you have to ask on a web forum how to perpetrate credit card fraud you are in no way set up to avoid the authorities, and I guarentee you that you will be found if you attempt or continue to use someone else's credit cards. Credit card companies spend millions upon millions of dollars to protect their customer's and ultimately themselves, they do not take fraud lightly and you WILL spend time in jail.

Well if thats the case that your cousin works for visa I would be curious to know the numbers. I have heard time and time again that nothing is even investigated at all unless the amount stolen is significantly over 1000$

One of my friends owns a fine italian clothing store and he has told me that occasionaly people will buy stuff using a stolen credit card valuing over 10 grand. He said that they dont do anything and insurance reiumberses them. I dont know all the details but I know for a fact if you use a stolen credit card in person and buy xboxs or something 0 will happen to you. Amex isnt going to investigate to see where the 1000 dollars went

In the case of fraud, the merchant and not the credit card company pays the full cost of the fraud plus a chargeback fee or the merchant's chargeback insurance covers it.

So basicaly what ends up happening is the person who owns the credit card doesnt lose any money. Amex doesnt lose any money and the merchant only loses money if he doesnt have insurance. Hence no investigation for small amounts

"In the U.S., persons that commit credit card crime largely go unpunished and repeatedly victimize consumers and businesses.[citation needed] The Secret Service handles crimes involving the U.S. money supply; they have a limit of $150,000 before investigating each crime.[citation needed] Most credit card criminals know this and keep purchases from any one business below $150,000. Credit card fraud can be reported to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and to local and regional authorities. It is the standing policy of the FTC not to investigate reports where the value of fraud does not exceed $2000. Local law enforcement may or may not further investigate a credit card fraud, depending on the amount, type of fraud, and where the fraud originated from."

    thats from wikipedia

its amazing what people beleive without any experience... they are all like "zomg dude! you can go to jailz!!!"... just like people used to think that if you did ANY hacking in WoW, you would instantly get banned...

    yeah... right =P

If you have to ask how to avoid authorities... i suggest not doing it unless you find a reliable source that is willing to basically walk you through it. Whats more worth it... being happy for a while and then going to jail for a while... or just living your life as it is?

Your friend will yes be reimbursed for his loss by his insurance company, and Visa, Mastercard, Amex etc etc will probably have a portion of their loss refunded by their respective insurance companies as well. However I guarentee you that each and every incident of credit card fraud is indeed investigated, and when the perpetrators are found they often serve alot harsher sentences then a regular thief. Nowadays they are making examples of credit card fraudsters because it has become so rampant and easily done.

Dysteria thanks for the response, however all the information im getting really seems to disagree with you. Apparently only issues of credit card fraud having to do with 10s of thousands of dollars or repeated fraud tot he same company are ever investigated. Companies care about money so if they are reimbursed via their isurance why would they waste 1000s to catch someone for 1000 dollar fraud?

Sychotix I agree with you but like I said I do have some experince in the past I have ordered from muay-thai websites in thailand and just resold the gloves. However its kind of a pain to wait 3 weeks for the gloves and then selling them. So I was hoping to get advice on how to take it to the next level
