Thank u very much for this information!
They do not check if the phone number you give is the phone number on the account. And even if for some bizarre reason they do, just say you're not calling from that number.
It's really not a big deal.
You need to know the first name, last name, and SQA. That's what's important.

Wow ummm no. It's not like it's supposed to be some super secret hidden number only handed out to members of a Blizzard cult. It's on the site, but the number is rather frustrating to find if you don't know where to go. Just trying to make it easier for people here. Sorry to make you have to wait 7 extra minutes when you have to call Blizz. Christ, get over it.
As I already explained to you in the shout box, the reason I suggested telling Blizz you're calling from the number that's on the account is because when I called them once and told them my cell phone number (which was the number on my account) the representative said "Hello James, how may I help you today?" (No, I didn't give the guy my name. James is the first name on my account. This could have been because I called earlier that day regarding my account. The point is, it freaked me out, and I would have not successfully got the information changed on the scammed account). I immediately hung up the phone, called back, and told them the number that was on the scammed account.
I've told them the account phone number ever since, and I will continue to do that. Call it a "superstition," but either way, it's always worked for me that way, which is why I put it in the thread. I'm trying to give the best advice I have to help people fully own a scammed account, I explained my method (which has never failed for me), and am trying to give beginners the best possible advice.
Sorry for the wall of text, but it's the only way for me to explain to you, since you keep insisting it's not necessary to provide the phone number on the account.
