Hope that all made sense lol
Ok, well it has been a while since I have posted anything (last post was that of http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-sc...to-cash-2.html), but here is a scam myself and 2 others have been using for quite a while, and i didn't find it when I searched (too broad, i guess).
Requirements:
A: 3 People
B: Time
C: An empty profession
Steps:
1) Decide on the profession that you will be using for this scam, and find a site (I use wowhead) for links of the items / enchants.
2) Wear extremely similar gear to your scamming partner.
3) Have the person with the profession being used for the scam spam trade chat.
(I.E. CRAFTING Felsteel Longblade YOUR MATS 100g PER NETHER PST)
4) Have the person doing the scamming stand on top of the person who just spammed. The spammer will then tell the person being scammed to meet him somewhere (I prefer the stormwind fountain, on top of it actually) and the one doing the scamming will stand ON TOP of the spammer, and with the similar gear it becomes difficult to tell the difference in people.
[REMEMBER: IF YOU ARE PRETENDING TO BE A BLACKSMITH, BE NEAR AN ANVIL]
5) Have the scammer make a /target /trade macro that targets the person coming to get something "made" and opens trade with them.
6) When the person walks up to get the item made, the scammer spams the macro and opens trade with the person, and they place the mats in trade and hit accept. The person then trades all the mats to a third person on a different account who sells them or uses them accordingly.
7) Reap the benefits.
P.S. For a higher success rate, make the character whos gonna be picking up the items make a name similar to the spammer, I use names with odd symbols in the names.
Good luck and have fun.
P.P.S. To all you negative nancy's out there, this is unbannable for those selling and doing the actual scamming. I do believe that there is a possibility of a ban for the person doing the spamming, for fake advertisement. To fix this issue, do what I did, just scam with a person that actually has the ability to make the item that you are scamming mats for. The responsibility completely falls to the person that wants to buy the item as they traded the mats willingly to the scammer, so Blizzard will take no action.
Hope that all made sense lol
im confused... u lost me at step 4
Basically you stand in the person that is promising to make the item, then you take the mats by making a macro to target and trade the victim with the person scamming.

TOO SHORT

i like the idea for the whole making similar names with just little symbols on top. pretty complicated though.
I dunno , I would usually notice the difference in names and usually always check the name in a trade window...thats just me though...probably are people out there that don't
Its the type of scam that can only be done 1 or 2 times per server-per toon though...
