Is there anyways to guarantee that you will keep the accounts? I put an authenticator on the account and link it to battle.net but they can still take it back.

first just wanna say thanks for all the nice replies and comments guys ^^. and also Mooser to answer your question the chances of getting there account back are 50/50. Most people throw out their CD key's if there account was pre BC or BC, but if you did all that to keep the account then the chances of them getting it back are 25/75. Still good luck man ^_^

Also to add, if you're preforming a scam where there is a trade of scanned IDs, the chance of them getting the account back is very limited.

For example, if you take the account on a friday night, transfer the char, then ban the original account completely the owner will attempt to get the original account back by Monday. On Monday, they will tell the Blizz rep their story and the rep will either confirm it (75% chance) or not listen as the account is banned (25% chance).

If the original owner is listened to, they will NOT change any info to the original account, rather, they'll send out an E-Mail asking the account to be unlocked. To unlock it, you send an a Scanned ID + signature. Basically, the first one to send that in gets the account. Since you have the Scanned ID and can fake a signature, you win.

Always be ready for the lock email no matter what. If I don't get the scanned ID when scamming, I ALWAYS make a fake ID with their info on it.

What they're trying to say is, an account that hasnt been merged with B.net yet is an ideal account to hack.

The idea is to hack an account that's not merged with Bnet yet, merg it with a new account, transfer the character you want from the hacked account to the new one. After thats done, get on the hacked account and get it permanently banned somehow.

Most of the time doing that is very risky since Blizzard started tracking everything. I would recommend just trying to find a good chance after you've had it for more than 3 or 4 days to send the gold / mats / boe's etc etc..this will give Blizzard a chance to understand that the original owner could have moved or is using a new IP etc etc..
