The "respec" Scam

I saw this scam a while back and thought i would post it again just to keep it alive.

This scam is to make a quick small amount of gold (50g at most). Its nothing big but if u ever need small cash quick why not.

Step 1:
Find a guild. Any guild basically will do just look around in Ironforge/Orgrimmar and look at someones Guild tag.

Step 2:
Log onto an alt. (Pref. Low level) and /who the guild you saw earlier

Step 3:
Find someone in that guild you want to impersonate then find a second person you want to scam. then send the second person a tell like this

Note: this will take a bit of luck this scam can go wrong. Ill explain How at the bottom.

You: hey its "Person 2" whats up
You: Im on my brother's account and he is playing on my guy
Victim: oh hey whats up
You: so whats up man? hows it going?
(just make small talk. talk to the person like you are their friend)
You: Hey so can u do me a favor?
Victim: sure what is it?
You: can you lend me some money to respec on my guy? i was going to respec for pvp later ( or maybe respec back after im done pvping if the person you are impersonating is pvping)
(this is the lucky part) Victim: yeah sure how much do you need?
You: i need 30g
Victim: ok thats cool
You: hey can u trade it with me then i could send it to my guy
Victim: ok

Step 4: send the money from the low level to your main

Step 5: Small profit


This Scam is based on luck. maybe the person is talking to your victim on vent or some variation of that sort. But if you do get caught the victim might not get to upset because the loss of gold wasnt that big and they might not report you. again this scam will work from time to time but not always. Ive done it a couple times and made a few hunded gold.

It's not crap money if you want to help a friend just starting WoW who has absolutely no gold on that server and yours is going to be sold so you can't give him


I see he asks for rep, but so what? I will rep him anyway, even though it's a repost, I didn't see it before!

Thread Starter, next time don't ask for rep but let people rep you themselves. If you ask for it at the beginning they will say one big "screw you" and won't rep you because you want rep.

And if you provided a really good post and people don't rep you for it (if you didn't ask), they are just selfish bastards or leechers.

Lame that you are still asking for rep when clearly its not a cool thing to do. You contribute to contribute, not for rep. If people think the thread is reputable, they will rep. Theres my spew, but this scam isnt worth how long it would take and it looks rushed and un organized.
