Auction House Manipulation.

So I was bored and did this today. Just to try it out. Not sure if it's been posted here or not, but heck, I don't browse these forums enough to know.

This is how I worked the AH today. Threw about 80 stacks of netherweave into the AH on my bank character. Then I hopped onto my main on my other account who happens to be leveling up Tailoring. I annouced something over the trade channel like:

"Here it is folks! Bring me 24 netherweave cloth and get yourself a netherweave bag! No tips required or even accepted AND I'm paying for the rune thread. Get here with your cloth within the next 5 minutes and I'll even pay you 1g for the skill up! You can even put it in the AH for MORE money!"

As I was pretty much the only person with netherweave in the AH I saw my netherweave sell like hotcakes. Of course it was at a higher priced, but heck, I made 438g off this. Anywho. Not exactly a scam, but it works.

+rep. I like your idea there, it kinda reminds me of putting something on the AUCTION then going on your alt and advertising that you want to buy it. This is a great idea especially with professions

Nope. no evil whispers lol. Because no one knows that my bank character name and my main are the same person. not even my GF lol. So with that, everyone thought they were buying mats and everything for some nice 16 slot bags and getting 1g out of the deal.

I had people come to me with 5-8 stacks of my cloth and then go and post the bags in the AH which was already overstocked with them. So as the day went on, lots of people realized that they'd have to put the bags at a cheaper price. Then I told all my friends to go buy them lol.

I'll be posting a few more ways that I do this later on, for now, I am at work and have work to do lol.

I dont think you should overdo it too much, I mean who believes that you're going to PAY to craft them stuff for free? :P

I only do it about once a month after I have an assload of mats for whatever I'm crafting. My last one was Mystic Spellthread. Tossed about 100 Primal mana in the AH and said I was making Mystic Spellthread hehe. Of course, I had about 10 pre-made so I can just trade it over and then make it so things to faster ^_~

Make up something when you start getting whispers.

"Sorry, some guy just brought me a TON of neatherweave. Made them all bags for him and i don't really have any use for making them any more. My appolgies."

Then they have not much else they can do but go "Oh...." They might ask for you to still make them the bags, just say you really can't, you're really busy doing something. You already percieved yourself as appologetic, so why would they not believe that?
