    Variation of Auction house scam

    Variation of Auction house scam
Ok we all know the auction house scam that's been around for centuries.

I just got this Idea from a guy on my server buying frostweave at 25g a stack.

Basically, what you do is the same deal (put an item up for a huge price), but instead of trading, you just ask them to COD it to you.

Like I said, this is basically the same deal, only this way has a higher chance of working, because people are more likely to just COD something to someone, rather than waste the effort of trying to find that person.

    In short:

#1. Get several items that are fairly rare, and are not on your auction house. (The trick here is that it can't be too common, or else everyone will have it, and it can't be too uncommon, because people will think they'll never find it. Example: Silk cloth - too common, your AH is probably flooded with them. Bastard gloves of the boar: too specific, people will think they won't find it, so they won't even try.

#2. Put up the Items for whatever amount you think they should be worth, plus 25% (about).

#3. Type /2 WTB [Item Here] for [$$ here, more than you put it up for on the auction house.], Just C.O.D. them to me.
Make sure that you type this on a character other than the one that's selling them.
Example: Want to buy deviate fish, 40G, just C.O.D. them to me . (Put them up in the AH for about 30G buyout.)

#4. When you get their mail, either hold it for a long time, so they forget how they got the item, or just return it to them automatically. I would recomend holding it in your mail for a week or so, but I doubt anyone would report you right away for not buying it COD.
A great excuse out of this is to send them an extra mail saying "Sorry man, I got flooded with like 100 of them, I didn't need that much, thanks anyways..."

This doesn't have to be used for scamming purposes, it can be used legit too.

I have TONS of deviate fish, (Thank you PiroX) but the market isn't so great for them right about now, so everytime i need a little money, i just put about 10 stacks up, and then announce it, and bam, already like 300G for practically no work at all.

This isn't a new scam, we have all heard it before, I'm just offering my variation.

I don't quite understand this scam.
You sell a stack for 30g, and you buy another one for 40g?
That means you lose money, rather than gaining.

    Could you please elaborate?

    Lol /facepalm.......

Step 1: You put the item on the AH you are going to be requesting.
Step 2: On a different char you make request in trade -- WTB (item you put on ah)
Step 3: Someone buys item and COD's it to you (they just purchased your item, at a good rate) When you get COD item you refuse it for what ever reason. Original item was sold you made money it's that easy...
