Get bought gold from the AH!

I am testing this to see if it will work out now, however I feel it would have an okay success rate with very little work on your part.

The other day I heard someone on trade chat saying there were crazy expensive light leather on the AH, so someone must have bought gold. This made me think, what if I made a character with a similar name (example: Fake could be Fäke or Laso could be Iaso) and put the exact same item up for the exact same price. Perhaps they would buy mine instead.

Since I put up the first one, the person with the light leather has changed the price of the item, however I found another person with 1053g forest mushrooms, so I have placed one of those up to see if this works out.

Problems I see:
1. The seller could see me putting up the items and notify the seller.
2. I could get caught by blizzard thinking I'm the one buying the gold.
3. They might not even be buying gold, just placing items up for obscene amounts.

I just wanted to post this to see if anyone else had this idea, or have tried it. I will update if it works out how I plan.

I've read it before.

Though, this hardly works, because the gold sellers do this with a system, if they find out someone is trying to trick their system they switch etc.
You MIGHT get lucky and the chinese buys your item, but they check the names 4-5 times before they buy the item, so it's a low chance.

That's cool, I didn't see it anywhere and I just wanted to see if anyone had any input on it. And to contribute.
To update, mine still hasn't been bought yet, but neither have any of the other mushrooms that are on the AH. But knowing that this might have been moved to contributors before makes me hopeful that it'll work. I figured it would only work about 60% of the time.

Well i think in the few weeks that people found out about it, the companies learnt to check the names. I heard reports of it working at first, then reduced success rates....

Because this is definitely a repost, you get no cookies from me, also because I thought about this long before I read about it, this isn't new to me... HOWEVER, to everyone saying this doesnt work...

I have an alt stationed at the ah permanently to check every time before I log on my main to search the entire ah, then just organize it to bids going down to see if anything like food or anything is for 1k gold or w/e...

Two nights ago, I saw a guy called Angusdustbin selling netherweave bandage 1k each, 5 of them.

I quickly made a char called Angusdustbîn (notice the accent over the I) and got a stack of it for 2g... I put 5 of them up for 1k gold, the next day, I checked the character, and lo and behold, in my mail are three netherweave bandages from the expired auctions and 2 thousand gold.

To all you saying this never works... just try it, sometimes you get lucky, I am now permanently checking the ah for these types of items It has worked for me twice, once with the bandages, and once with a 500g vendor white cloth gloves...

Anyways, just saying, sometimes it does work
