This can be done on any account, even your main one and you will not be banned.

Make a level one character with the first letter of your name as an "i"
The "i" will show up as a "l" because it is capitalized. People will think it is an "L" and when they try to report you they will tell the GM the wrong name.

Now onto the scam.

Make a Male Orc WARLOCK if you are horde, and a Female Human Warlock if you are Alliance. Statistics show that people trust these two combinations the most.

Type "WTS Spectral Tiger Code 4000g, Serious Offers Only please"

When people ask you why you are on a level 1 tell them "I am on a level 1 because I have to get 4k gold on this server for this guy who is going to give me x3 the amount on another server."

When they ask where you got it say "From my dad, he collects them."

Tell them to get on AIM or MSN - don't talk about the context of the trade or how you are going to do it in game, that way blizzard won't do anything.

Convince them to give you 100% of the gold up front, then tell them that you will either send them a picture of it in a .jpg file over aim, or post it on imageshack.

They will give you the money, then send it to your main via mail and log out/delete character/recreate character with same name.

works like a charm I have made 30k gold in 1 day doing this and never been banned.

Not... everyone knows that the first letter of names is capitalised. and capital "I"s ingame still have the little bars on top and bottom. Fail.

I'd like to see the proof for this. How could you even possible test it.

Or they write a ticket, explain what happened, Blizzard checks logs, see you said your selling them and to go to AIM, you get banned, they get gold back.

Doesn't work. They can still track the gold, thats such a simple way of "dodging" getting a ban that they have known how to get around it forever, they have logs of all the characters, it wont work.
