Sorry, I just kind of misinterpreted, since you posted in 2 Jackal threads and the title of this thread is a play-on words of the old Jackal sticky.

I know, I completely understand. I actually though they were new threads, haha. The other two threads influenced me to post this in the first place because they were bumped I guess (not by me o.O;!) Anyway, getting hacked sucks =[! I hope this information does help people =]!

Verye, you might as well stop. Some people just don't respond to logic. Some people live in their own realities. You could tell this guy a million times that none of us hack, but you'd be ruining his argument so he's just going to reject your facts and substitute his own. People like this strive for the sort of attention he's getting. There's no point arguing with him. His logic is that scamming is not illegal, but scam busting is. No point in arguing with that, you just can't fix stupid.

I will clear this up for you lolkeybye as I am dutch as well.
Kathunx doesn't need to reply or make a confession what so ever, the things he, and his Jackals do are legal.
The actions they take can be considered a violation of personal privacy, but according to laws and rules, they do not brake any.
For example, google-ing your email address can in many occasions give hits to myspace websites, or be used at another website/forum where your personal information can be found fairly easy.
If they would be looking for a dutch scammer, such as yourself and me.. the only thing they have to do is scout your name at a dutch website similar to myspace; Hyves.nl in this case. Once they have found you, they simply need to make an account representing themselves as a female with a sexy picture, and add you to their friends list.. most of the people would accept such a person, and voila! all your personal info are belong to them.
From that point it is easy to either send you a letter, or find out your address and/or parents names.
You do the math. Finding out someones personal information is no big deal, since most people posted their personal information somewhere on the I-net.

This is just one of the many possible ways, and probably one of the easiest.
I am not saying this is how they do it, but I know it is possible doing it the way I just described. I hope this cleared things up for you.

that last post is wrong just so you know, i beleive it was kurios who did the original intro and said that tehy challengend the jackals to find them and 1 other person (its included that they havent but their personal info on the internet) and the jackals were able to, also i member reading somewhere that Kathunx talks to a lawyer or 2?... about making sure everything HE does is legal, but that things the jackals do may or may not be, but since he isnt telling them to he's in the clear, and the jackals are presumably untrackable if their as good as protecting themselves as they are at catching scammers. so theres that.

P.S., i know he didnt **** with your community Kathunx, but i vote that if the jackals aint to busy he gets messed with and then it can be posted that morons like him stop expressing their opinions here

Guys, do you know how many people tell him "TRACK ME TRACK ME" every day? In the old thread, there were dozens of people who kept begging to be tracked. He's not going to track you. He can't sit around and dedicate time and effort to tracking down random idiots on some internet website just to make them happy.

Kath took this the wrong way first of all. I am not "striving" for any type of "attention." I simply do not condone ****ing up someones life. This isn't meant for arguments of any sort. Actually, I'm sure Kath is a pretty cool dude... power hungry... but probably pretty cool. Did I or do I condone the actions HE took against some poor kids? Obviously not. But once again, no one specifically was mentioned BY ME in this thread. It was once again to simply protect people and was posted for current relevance due to recently bumped multiple threads about people getting hacked. Theres nothing wrong with having a defense up!

For everyone that is challenging the idea of getting hacked here or anywhere else, I'm not pointing fingers, that's just as stupid and childish as hackers themselves.

BTW Kath, I am in no way flaming you? Just read my first post in this thread. Simply protecting people. Getting hacked isn't cool. You learn the hard way. Remember, there is one person smarter than someone else out there. I used to hack when I was a little dude, and the tables were turned, and it sucked ass when I met the smarter me. I don't want to see fellow community members go through what I did when I was a child and due to recent violations of law on this forum, I am helping out the contributors of this site. By all means Kath, run your forums and site, keep the Jackals alive (I think they stopped from what information I received earlier.) Nonetheless, this was not directed to anyone in particular, it was posted with the intent of helping people due to a recent influence of reading others threads and posts. That's all. No one here has to fight. That's just even more childish.

Oh and I just don't condone the hacking of these sorts. No one has the right to ruin somebody else's life, no one.

Hey man, I'd appreciate you reading my two posts before this as well. Once again bro, I'm not flaming you. But this thread was made through the intent and influence after I read some bumped threads on MMOWNED about your guys doing some dirty business. Scamming is immoral, but depending on the scam, it may or may not be illegal.

Let me give you a quick example outside of the WoW world (three cases I personally viewed over the summer my friend.)

This is all fact, I do promise you..

In all three cases, they were brought to Paypal and courts. What happened was a smartphone called a "HiPhone" was being sold on E-Bay's online marketplace. The title of the auction was "Newh iPhone unlocked NIB L@@K." All three of them! In the description of the item's listing it gave all of the HiPhones specs. But not once was Apples name mentioned and only the name "Smartphone" was inside the auction link it's self. The phones which wholesale for practically nothing were sold for $400 and in or around that area! The consumers got their products and complained to both authorites and pay pal. The cases were brough to paypal and court. The cases took an entire summer to process and finish. You would think the seller would have owed $1,000+ to the people that bought his product and perhaps even spent time in Jail or pay some fines for doing something illegal, in your world, "scamming." Turns out, the courts and Paypal both basically said, "sorry consumer, you got screwed. You should have carefully read the auction! Better luck next time. Have a nice day!" The seller walked away with new merchandise, a phone for the sellers self, and lots of pocket change. MANY people would call this a scam but there was nothing illegal about it. That is just one of many examples I can spit out here on these forums, but this thread is not intended for factual stories I have.

In conclusion. Most cases of scamming aren't illegal. Now if you **** the government over and **** with a bank, that's called fraud.Theres a difference between fraud and a scam. They can coincide, but like Philosophy and Science coincide, they still aren't the same thing. Take care. I hope people pay attention to the guide now instead of fighting. It's ****ing getting stupid.
