    My Video Scam

    My Video Scam
So, I'm pretty much done using my video scam from youtube. It was sexy and resulted in some easy accounts, but now I feel I want to move back into the 1 on 1 scams genre. I felt like I should share this with some of you scammers so that maybe you could run it yourself and gain some profit.

This is basically my own twist on the youtube video scam. I do not take credit for the idea of said scam. I am not going to go into an in depth guide on how to make a video scam. I will tell you what you'll need to do my version of the scam though.

    What You'll Need
A yahoo (or any free e-mail service) e-mail unassociated with any account you want to keep.
    A phone.
The ability to lie without stuttering and sounding suspicious.

Basically this twist consists of weeding out potential wastes and grabbing the hot stuff. It's also meant to fool the viewer/pigeon into a false sense of security. Here is the video I personally made and have been using for quite some time now.

[ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ws4cRALELT8]YouTube - Apply for a GM Job in World of Warcraft![/ame]
EDIT: The video is still available. No idea why it won't show here. Just click on the link in the green box at the top of the video.

If you've watched this video, you understand the premise of my twist on the scam. They send in an e-mail, I check if it's worth while, and if it is, I need to swindle them into giving me the buried treasure. Savvy?

Anyways, I'm also including all of the e-mail templates I used during this escapade for you guys to learn from. I know a bunch of you leechers will just copypasta this whole thing, but whatever.

I wrote every piece of this myself, it is ALL original work. I used Evil Page for my fake mailer.

This is the e-mail I sent to potential scammees if I wanted their account.

Hello [email protected]! We have received your e-mail and been informed that you are qualified to join the fine ranks of our GMs in the World of Warcraft! For security purposes, we must verify via a return e-mail from you that you are the owner of the account, and from there, we can proceed to the next step of the GM Application process.

In your return e-mail, please include the following information or we will be unable to verify that you are the owner of the account in question and this could pose a security risk to the real owner of the account.

    Account Name:
    Account Password:
    First Name on the account:
    Last Name on the account:
    E-mail registered to the account:
    Secret Question on the account:

IMPORTANT: DO NOT REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL! Send your response to:

If you do not, we will NOT receive your e-mail and won't be able to move forward with the GM Application process.

This sounds pretty legitimate if you ask me (at least for people dumb enough to believe my video.) It gets you pretty much all the information you need to make a call to Blizzard and get the e-mail on the account change. I've done it twice now effectively. If they (the scammees) gave you bad information (I.E. First and Last name) you might be screwed though, because then the Blizzard rep you got on the phone willl start asking for CD Keys and Address and Phone Numbers and all that shit as an alternative method to confirming account ownership. I don't like asking for all of that info in the e-mail (seems too fishy), so if worse comes to worse, I just hang up and let it go.

This next e-mail is if they gave you a fake username/password and you still really want the account. Chances are they won't fall for this, but you never know when a stroke of dumb will strike them and they will.

We are sorry to inform you that the information that you have provided us with is either mistaken or is falsified. The e-mail address attached to the World of Warcraft account you have attempted to register does not match the details you've sent us.

We will be unable to move forward with the GM Application Process until you have either proven ownership of the account by giving us the correct information, or changing the e-mail address on said account to:

    [email protected]!

This will verify for your safety and ours that you are the true owner of the account in question. Due to the risk of a compromised account, investigation into the account may be taken under way if you do not prove your ownership of the account. This could lead to repercussions leading up but not limited to Permanent Account Closure. We thank you for cooperating with us.

This attempts to scare them into changing the e-mail to yours by threatening them with account penalties if they do not cooperate. Remember that fear is a HUGE player in the scamming game.

The following e-mail is a legitimate blizzard e-mail that is sent to the owner of an account that's been banned. I've modified it slightly to prevent them from seeing some of the information that might lead them to disputing the ban or bringing unwanted attention the account.

Obviously I use this to hopefully trick them into losing any hope of recovering the account.

    Title: Notice of Account Closure
    Body:

    ***Notice of Account Closure***

    Account Name: *****
    Offense: Unapproved Third Party Software

A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of the World of Warcraft software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game, such as increasing your movement speed or teleporting from one place to another beyond what is allowed by game design. It also includes any programs that obtain information from the game that is not normally available to the regular player or that transmit or modify any of the game files. Normally, this classification does not include UI modifications, except those UIs that require an external application to function.

Any external applications that are used in conjunction with World of Warcraft can cause quite a few unwanted side effects. Some of the major possible results of the use of third party programs can be instability of the game to the point that a player "crashes" from the game quite often. External programs can also be used to transmit viruses, spyware, and other unwanted programs into a player's computer. Third party programs can also be used to obtain information from the player's computer, such as account, password, and personal information.

If a player is found to have used such a program, he/she may:

    * Be temporarily suspended from the game
    * Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the program

Access to the World of Warcraft account *****, and any World of Warcraft account associated with the payment information you have provided, has been permanently disabled. The account has been identified as having used unauthorized game modifications and thus is in violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. The recurring subscription on the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.

Please review the World of Warcraft Terms of Use at WoW -> Legal -> Terms of Use, which you accepted when you installed World of Warcraft and established the account(s). Section 2, Paragraph C details the limitations of game play modifications and use of any third-party or “packet sniffing” software. In addition, Section 3, Paragraph C, parts iii and iv restrict the use of any hack, scripting or macroing software which obtains information from World of Warcraft to gain a competitive advantage over other players.

Furthermore, any activities not intended by game design which affect the economy, the client, player characters or the world itself have a tremendous negative impact on the potential enjoyment for all players. The effects of these activities take many forms including a bloated game economy, server instability, and allowing unauthorized access to accounts, computers, and player data.

As a result, the account(s) will no longer be accessible and will not be reopened under any circumstances.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and respecting our position and all statutes within the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.

Well the success rate of this scam isn't brilliant, so I've only gotten one seventy (which was subsequently banned in the 5/20 ban wave.) However, I've gotten numerous other accounts with this. The two I mentioned in my original post were the ones I found to be significant.

Funny enough, I got into quite the pickle with one of these accounts. I got a level 64 Nelf Druid, Epic land mount and all. But of all the luck in the world, I got an account that was locked down on strict parental controls. The guy could only play 2 hours a day on week days and 4 hours on weekends (not including Friday.) It was interesting indeed.

BTW thanks for the comment on my video.
