    [Guide] Scam ingame anonymously

    [Guide] Scam ingame anonymously
After some research about hiding ip with proxies and stuff I finally found a way to hide your IP from Blizzard. I'd say this is 90% safe, the Ping says it works, and I couldn't think of any other way to prove it :S IP leaks may somehow still be possible.

    1. What do you need?
    1. Tor (you can use other programs, if you know the ports :S)
    2. Privoxy (is included in the download of my link)
    3. ProxyFirewall

    2. Where do you get it?

You can get Tor + Privoxy here

    and ProxyFirewall here

    3. How does it work?

I will not explain Tor in Detail, since it works automatically for our purpose (if you'd like to use it for surfing, you should use FireFox and download the Add-In TorButton). Tor uses the Port 9050 for Proxies, which we use for our purpose (Make sure no other program uses this port).

Start ProxyFirewall, switch to the Tab "Open Proxies" and click on "Add Proxies".
In the field "IP Address" you enter 127.0.0.1, which is your localhost. In the field "Port" you enter the port mentioned above, 9050. Then click on "Add to List".

After this, switch the Tab "Rules". Click on "Add Program", then on Browse and look up your WoW.exe (or any other program which you want to run over the proxy). Choose "Use Proxy Server" afterwards and click on the big "Click here to select a proxy server" button to the right. Go to Open Proxies->SOCKS Proxies->127.0.0.1:9050 and voila, you're done.

Start WoW and notice you lag like a piece of shit, which is indicates, that everything has gone right, as surfing with proxies is always connected with a higher ping.

Side note: I've tried using the ProxyFirewall for Internet explorer and checking whatsmyip.org, but unfortunately this doesn't really work. The Site won't show up, but in the blue bar on the top of the screen it said "Welcome bla bla your ip is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" and showed a completely different IP than I actually had. Afterwards, I tried with FireFox and Tor activated, it showed the same IP, which indactes that ProxyFirewall is using the Tor-Port correctly. You don't need to check this all the time, as the high ping in WoW proofs that it works, but if you wanna go sure...

    4. PLEASE NOTE:
I have no proof that this really works, what I know is that whatsmyip.org and similiar sites DO NOT recognize the proxy. It's said that Blizzard can recognize proxies, but I highly doubt they are better than such sites.

ALSO, you WILL need a 2nd account to scam on, this just hides your IP from Blizzard, doesn't mean it hides accounts. So you can put Tor, Privoxy and ProxyFirewall on, get a different IP, log on scam-Account, Scam gold, launder it over the ah or whatever, log out, close said programs and log on your main with your normal ip.

IN ADDITION, DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR MAIN ACCOUNT. You will get a highly suspicous IP-Range, and if Blizzard investigates, they can and will ban you.

I can NOT fully exclude IP leaks from being possible, but as I said, if those sites can't detect the proxy, I can't imagine how Blizz would.

Hope I can get some specialists opinion on this

    Greets,
    Suq

I'm no expert on proxies...but I know that a previous account of mine was banned through IP detection. Meaning, the fact that "I" went from being in Texas to China to Turkey in a matter of a couple of days raised a red flag.

If there was a way to fix the IP to stay in the same general location, but still change that'd be balls.

ImCreek, you should NOT ever use this on your own account.

As I stated above, you need an alt or a scammed account for scamming.
Doing this in your main will result in having a highly suspicious IP range which can lead to a ban easily. I will edit my post above and point this out a bit mor detailled.

Well I kinda understood that. Practically speaking though, it's a good post for those that don't care about keeping their scammed accounts.

Yes, but I wonder whats safer, using the local internet cafe for scamming or using this proxy. Hope anyone can give proof on how good this really works.

They might be able to connect your local internet cafe somehow with your account, since the ip-range could be similiar, depending on the provider.

But there would be no chance for blizzard to find any connections when a account with logings from lets say texas, england and china buys something from a german account on the auction house :S

Has anyone tried this out and tested it yet?
I have tried to do some testing with teamspeak, but when I tunneled traffic through the proxy Teamspeak wouldn't let me connect. I'd need a program which sends and receives data (like every game or commuinication program) and lets you show your own ip easily, but I can't think of one :/

If anyone had 2 scammed accounts and access to a internet cafe or some other computer he could try doing some obvious scam on one account and send the gold to the other one and logging on the 2nd account with a new proxy ip to see what happens. Guess this practical test would show a lot, unfortunately I can't do this myself =(
