There is absolutely no proof that this new warden is able to do things the other warden did not do, other than scanning for a broader range of hacking processes.

    Warden currently cannot:

-Read your text documents (Word, Notepad, etc.)
-Look at what programs you have on your computer.
-Check your internet browsing history or check what site you're on.
-See if you are on a private server or not.

    It can:

-Check what processes are running and see if its name and code are hack-like.
-Possibly do other things that Blizzard has not informed of us. These things almost definitely do not interfere with our privacy or anything.

    Wowinsider said:

a brand new version of Warden (the program Blizzard uses to check for hacks, bots, and keyloggers) that they say effectively gives Blizzard total control over our computers.
Who is "they"? Where are their sources?

I personally think this is all getting overhyped. All that we really know is that Warden got updated, and it probably now affects a broader range of hacks.

Warden did not, does not, and will never have total access to your computer like these articles say.

Whoever wrote this article is just trying to start a little firestorm in the WoW community. He has no evidence that Warden is now some ultra-crazy big brother program that knows when we're looking at ******

If you use glider or other hacks, I'd say that it's possibly less safe to use them now with this Warden update. Still, Warden is fairly limited in what it can do. If you use MountainClimber or something obvious like that, of course Warden will pick it up and instaban you. It seems that older versions of Glider and possibly newer versions might be raising a bit more flags, but it has always been risky to use glider.

Now, this new version of Warden is completely encrypted, but there is still absolutely no evidence that it can now edit or view our computer files or check our internet history or anything of the sort. I do think it is unethical that everything it does is 100% encrypted to the public, but that's how Blizzard chooses it to be.

Still, don't panic over this. Check out On Warden: A storm is brewing too to see exactly what this new change does.

If you want more information about Warden, you can IM me. AIM screenname is in my sig. I don't need rep; completely free service.

It's possible that it does. I'd say it's unlikely your account will ever be actioned for JUST model changing, but it's within the realm of possibility.

Also, just because Warden detects it doesn't necessarily mean account action will take place.

There's a very good chance that this new update doesn't change anything that has to do with model changing. If it detects model changing, there's a good chance it has always detected model changing. Don't work yourself up over this new Warden update.

    Edit:

After some extensive research, it's really quite unclear on whether Warden detects it or not. Some say that Warden does not detect the ADDING of game files, which is what model changing does, but some say that it can. Either way, I'd probably suggest against model changing. Is a little client-side only aesthetic really that important?
