There are many alternatives to HB but HB is a multipurpose bot with a bunch of functionality and your alternative choice depends on what you want to do with a bot. PVE/PVP Rotation only engine? Farming materials? Leveling?
Btw Ownedcore has a good section about this argument. You can check it by yourself and you'll probably found the best answer to your question.

Surprisingly I survived the banwave(so far), what were you guys botting..?

My accounts got banned for 6 months, nice strategy for blizzard to wait for my gametime tokens to expire, remove gold on my account so I have to buy gametime for real money and I still won't have any gold. Haha stupid blizzard. What is funny I didn't have honorbuddy on for 3 days, because I didn't have time to turn on pc, and I get banned today while in raid...

Honorbuddy is 100% detectable this is twice in a row now, there is no excuse no way to bullshit there way out of this one.
Don't waste your money anymore. The money they are making from the buddystore will 100% guarantee that HB is going to tell there customers that they figured it out and your SAFE to bot.
Rake in some more money for 6 more months then play dumb for the next banwave!

I don't think Blizzard is stupid... Accounts have been getting flagged for weeks/months and your account was one of the accounts that got flagged. They just decided to perform the bans today all at once rather than the moment the account gets flagged since then it makes it fairly easy to find out exactly what is causing the bans. Pretty standard stuff though, they've been doing ban-waves in this fashion for years and they aren't the only company that does it this way.

HB is finished. That's it. I doubt anyone will ever trust this bot after the SECOND banwave.

@ted221 I'm sorry but what a fatuous remark, they didn't even say that last time so why would they say it now, in fact they said quite clearly that they did not know and could at best speculate.
The problem as it appears to me (from a non-expert perspective) is that it seems the anti-detection measures are being circumvented, and if they simply cannot determine where and how, it is hard to imagine that a hit and hope strategy will fly a second time, or be satisfactory to the devs. I believe there are only two options, either they find the vulnerability and close it, or try something more drastic like a redesign of some fundamental parts of the software, either to reduce its surface area/interaction with the WoW client or perhaps move to an approach that hacks in other games have adopted such as kernel mode drivers. I'm not sure how feasible, or truly necessary any of that is though to be honest.

Could be everything, blizzard would just need to change a single function parameter which sends a packet with that parameter.
Honorbuddy would maybe use the old (but fully functional) parameter and the server can easily filter you. They also could add 2 detections at once and hb team would only find 1.
Or they start to send the last hardware input time and compare it with your last action (some spells do send timestamps), if honorbuddy overwrites the timestamp too slowly => ban.
Using the huge game engine instead of an anti cheat tool is a great deal.
There are so many easy ways to detect a bot, you just saw 2 silly examples, good luck to the hb team finding the detection, but I think you will lose this game.

@culino2 Yep true, when you put it like that my vulnerability comment was nonsensical, but I suppose I wondered if there could be one specific thing they missed like in the Glider example shown at Defcon, if it's still lurking in the client then it is now a prerequisite to find/fix before you can move forward. The engine vs anti cheat is an interesting distinction and something that can easily be overlooked by those not in the field, I guess searching for a needle in a haystack doesn't even begin to explain the difficulty.

..haystack doesn't even begin to explain the difficulty.
I am fairly confident that int he current state of anti-cheats/hacks there is no jam pack features hack like honorbuddy that will be safe when targeted, at best, you might be able to have a preemptive system that keeps it at bay a while.

GarrisonBoss only--and for less than 5 days!

You assume too much.
How could you possibly know how long accounts have been getting flagged for? Mine was active for only 2 days, and it's not like anyone flagged me because I ran only GarrisonBoss in my Garrison which is invisible to other players.
Also, there was no precedent to the May 13, 2015 ban wave. So it's not like Blizzard has been doing ban waves in this fashion for years.

I got a 18 months ban yesterday. Do you know why? 2 session of HB, 50 minutes each one in the same day, with a multiboxing botbase. Nothing more.
They detect you.
They flag you.
They ban you when they want.

Not true. Blizzard use this method for years. The only difference is the punishment they gave you in the past and the one tehy give you now: permabans vs very long suspensions. It's only a matter of perception right now.
