WTF @Fishing Tournament? 1st place, q-tab open, loot infront of me, unable to accept

so I had 40 fish, went back to BB while a guy on my server already got 1st

Me using groupfinder found a server who has not been ranked yet. Talked to the NPC, opened the window, had the loot visibly infront of me, selected the ring, wanted to click accept - and Nothing happened.

WTF

Why is that?

Did they lock it to one server only? Didnt I see that I was in a raid-group and therefor could not hand it in? Usually you can hand in all quests while being in a raid. Is this "feature" (realm hopping) disabled for the tournament? If so, how would that specifically for this occasion work?

I am so confused, frustrated and angry that I have to contact a GM right now

Realm hopping is afaik not possible for the tournament


EDIT: That's for the quest turnin. It is possible to fish on other realms etc.

Even if you realmhop, the quest itself counts your server completions only. Has been so at least since Cata.
