Dead feature
Q: Why can’t players set their own prices for the WoW Token?
A: The WoW Token feature is designed to facilitate the exchange of gold and game time between players in as secure, convenient, and fair a way as possible, and without making players feel like they’re playing a game with their hard-earned money. Having a set current market price and a straightforward exchange system is the best way to achieve that—you don’t need to worry about whether your Token will sell or not due to being undercut or the market shifting, and everyone receives exactly the amount of gold they were quoted.
1) You can´t sell (gift) gametime from RU
2) It will have minor effect on gold price, because china sellers will always sell you gold cheaper.
This system didn't affect runescape gold prices greatly when it was introduced there, if anything it provided stability to gold prices.
3rd party prices are always going to be lower than official prices but i really doubt we'll see a long-term price crash although when it is first released it's pretty likely there will be a temporary price drop with players dumping their stockpiled gold for gametime.
If i were a gold buyer and began buying through these in-game tokens then learned about the better price provided by 3rd parties, i would start buying through them. I think this will introduce more players to idea of buying gold from 3rd parties than it will take away in the long term.
I will continue to buy my gametime from ownedcore sellers![]()
You must create new account to buy RU gametime, but ppl want play on their old accounts. You cant buy and use RU gametime on other acc
All I can say is at least blizz is trying to do something. This is a classic example of, "If you can't beat them, join them" situation. The difference here though is that they at least get to take a slice of the market and keep it regulated. People are always going to be buying gold. Providing safer ways for players to do it is definitely fulfilling a market need. I honestly don't know why it took them this long!
They should also introduce way how to sell golds![]()
This might mean that Blizzard will start caring more about regular players who buy gold from other parties and become more vigilant in issuing bans and suspensions.
easier way to get game time for my botting accounts now![]()
this is a disaster. RMAH killed D3 remember? The price per token (which is whatever the monthly sub is in your area) will be set to something ridiculously LOW like 1k - thus inflating the market. Why is Blizz doing this?
One reason and one reason alone - to profit from the secondary market (which is now integrated so its no longer a secondary market - ITS THE MARKET)
Gold farmers will LOVE IT.
RIP WoW, 2004-2015.
Price will be hard set by Blizz. Seller cant set their price
