Right, as the latest news, it should be in the patch next.

This is just Blizzard's way of legitimizing gold buying. Nothing more nothing less. Now instead of Joe Smoe buying gold from chinese farmer, they buy gold directly from Blizz in the form of a game time token to be exchanged for gold. Going forward, I think gold prices will have a direct correlation to game time token.
They have been doing that since the store pets are BoE.
Problem with these tokens is their sell time. You can put your token for sale on exchange, but 1 exchange for entire region and selling is FIFO so with stockpile of tokens sell time can be long.
I hope many of the restrictions will drop down as i was hoping to make sales and to speculate a bit :/
I see no problem with the change. If anything gold will become a tad bit more valuable. I just hope the price they set is reasonable so that none of the already existing gold services take a hit. Honestly I don't think that have any sinister intent. Its just a move to make more profit for people who are willing to pay to get what they want. Nothing wrong with it at all.
We'll see though.
My bet is it won't even be as popular as they are intending it to be.
From my perspective it all really depends on what Blizzard wants to do. Do they really want to combat gold sellers? Because gold sellers buy more than 50% of all new accounts in my opinion. Blizzard isnt really making any money with this, because if someone buys a token he is buying gametime for somebody else basically. It just means one person bought gametime for themselves AND someone else, it doesnt mean more money was spent. So it really depends, do they really want to combat gold selling? I dont think so tbh
Main thing is their price, how low are they willing to go. Im hoping its gonna be expensive![]()
Good bye market!
If they set the goldprice high it would be so awesome for goldsellers!People who wanna buy gametime are gonna buy cheaper gold from the farmers and then exchange that to tokens ^^
Since Blizzard set the price of tokens they actually can just set the price they want to control the market. They can set high price and then you put your token on AH after that they just give you gold since they can produce unlimited gold and your token even won't be sold. So i don't really think that the exchange will be going between players. You pay money - Blizz give you gold; you pay gold - Blizz give you gametime. Seems like it's going to be another Blizzard store disguised to AH and they will be able to set the most profitable price for themselves.
This is what came to my mind, as soon that post went live!
Even though, it's somehow reasonable (and perhaps, obvious for some of us!), I didn't want to start a debate on the first place; so thank you for opening it instead.
However, as I already mention, it is highly logical that there will be more Gametime buyers than it will actualy be Gold buyers (the ones who buy the gametime in the Shop and list it on the token AH) and by that I mean the exact same thing St1me stated on the first place.
For example:
1) At a time maybe there will be only (let's take a really small numbers as this is just a plastic example and I want it to be easy for everyone to understand; even those "not math" lads) 10 gametime token sellers (the guys who actualy bought tokens for money and have put that token on the AH) and on the other side there will be like 1 000 token buyers (which are paying for their token in gold). You think Blizz will actualy state that they are "out of stock" and that "there's no any token sellers at this time" and that you should try again later?
2) And the other possibility, of course, could just be (as Trixiap mentioned) FIFOmethod (which, for those who don't know, stands for "First In First Out") so that Blizz is just a some kind of middleman (which actualy 99% of the lads think they are); though I just wouldn't bet on that. But meh, who knows. I would like to see what others think about it (if there's any like minded fella willing to share his thoughts with us)
Just my 2 cents on this; felt the need to comment on this thread
Cheers!
P.S.
We didn't start the flame war!

Are you sure you understood the post mate?
As I never said they are resellable/tradeable.
I guess you just missunderstood what I wrote in the first placeEach WoW Token can only be sold once. After you purchase a Token for gold, it becomes Soulbound. At that point, it can only be redeemed for game time..
