Cant wait to see duped tokens everywhere hahaha
Cant wait to see duped tokens everywhere hahaha
two important stuffs are here:
1.price of token in euros
if they put price 13 euros or more all will be fine--but with lower price gold sellers cant compete them
2. price of gametime in gold
lets say that 30k gold is token and ppl pay for it like 10 euros that will destroy gold market
but if gametoken is 10 euros and price in gold is 20k that will be ok in long way.
if they put price of token 20k gold that will help sellers
if they make price 20k or more that can affect gold sellers a lot cause for less money u get more gold
aswell if gametoken is like 50k one month barely someone will buy it its too much gold.
Gametime tokens price cant be under 1month sub price.
I am not sure if I understand you correctly, but as far as I know, it is rather possible that there will be a message stating that tokens are out of stock. Why? Because Blizzard needs money from them. There is absolutelly no profit for them selling the game tokens for ingame gold, as it is worth completely nothing for them. They can generate as much of it as they want, they could even remove them and it would change completely nothing for them. (It would change game to a shitty one but well, they could do that if they want it).
The main point for the game tokens is, that there will always be that one guy who paid real cash for the token, and then sell it for gold.
What does that mean to everyone?
About token prices, there are some possibilities for that. They must not be too expensive, because people will ignore them and just buy gametime from resellers. They can't be too cheap either, because it would ruin economy. (imagine tokens going for 1k. You can earn 1k without problems in less than an hour. Everyone would buy tokens then but what about other items? There are items now that are worth more than 20k+, meaning that those items would now be worth hundreds of dollars which wouldn't make any sense.).
So thinking about that, the price for tokens will probably be worth around the amount someone dedicated to earning it is able to farm in some days. Just so the lazy people will stick to buying it nomally from store, and people who can't really afford those 15$ will be ready to spend in order to get it. Seeing as 30 days is worth around 40k (am i right?), it could be around that, or slightly more.
What does it change? Well, there will be a lot of people buying those tokens (for reasonable price), just because they value their accounts and because they were afraid of buying gold from sellers. Some of people who bought them from sellers will change to that too, just for their convenience and less risk. There will be people who will stick to resellers just for the sake of it, or because they like it.
What will that mean for sellers? Well, there will be probably less customers buying gametime and gold, but if they decide to lower gold prices, there will still be people buying gold for some expensive items such as rare pets and mounts.
Ofcourse it all depends on Blizzards way of dealing with it. If they do it logically looking at market nowadays, it will bring slight problems to sellers and probably some looses. If they **** up with imaginary prices, they will just face laughs from us and the market for that stuff will be really small.
how will this effect goldselling will this be the end for goldsellers?
An attempt to control/minimise the impact of the gold sellers, imo.
It'll probably work if you wanna do virtual money vs real money... good news for rich IG players too ^^
Token goes live tomorrow for US/Oceanic/Latin America servers. Token price is $20 (money grab by blizz ofcourse $20 vs $15 game time). Let the great gold depression begins!!! I think gold price will tank because there will be more token buyers (gold sellers) than token sellers (gold buyers). The auction house will also be regional meaning token will be exchanged between servers. RIP chinese gold sellers. I think tokens will go for at least 50k and personally I think upward of 100k (setting the gold price at 20c per 1k). Can't wait for tomorrow....I personally have liquidated all my gold the last month or so since gold prices went back to normal save for my last 150k,
Good thing for you and a bad thing for anyone else who has developed a semi/serious business
20 USD... The bane of this feature... Imagine how much better it would have been if it was just 5 USD cheaper and equal to the normal price of 1 month...Though i understand that there is a difference and the price of the month only includes a month while this also adds a Month + gold revenue for you...

Tokens NOT going live tomorrow. Only patch is going live tomorrow for US servers. Token going live 1 week after (at least that's the plan).
I hardly think price is gonna be 100k..... That makes no sense at all. If price is $20 probably ingame gold start at 40-50k and then goes down until price market.
Price will be 40-50k @start, but it will rise since algorithm is "higher demand, higher price" and demand will be very high for first days (weeks). But after initial hype, price will go lower and stabilize at some equilibrium.
With all my respects there is one thing that i just cannot agree with. With the high ammount of money people are making from Garrisons( i mean gold not real money) i sincerely doubt that this option will see too much use... Also as long as there are safe selling websites and so on that you can buy your gold for a STEADY(unlike blizz) and LOWER price to get more gold for the same ammount of $... Yeah blizz really are doing a nice business move on this one, but i doubt it will see HUGE sales...Though if you compare to 0 anything can be announced as HUGE...
Im hoping the chinese will use stolen credit cards and start buying like huge amounts of these si blizz would have to remove the feature lol
All you gold sellers wishing this feature to fail...STOP DREAMING! Move on....we are pretty much screwed myself included. Time to go look for other ways to make $$$. Now everyone with a boatload of gold are by default gold sellers as they all would be trying to buy these token. Excess demand for tokens means price of token will go up. Therefore gold will be worth less.
You never know, lets wait it out. 90% of the new battlechests bought are from the botting/gold selling community. Blizzard would be foolish to directly combat it. If the token is kind of expensive they get the double benefit of the botting community still spending loads of money monthly for all the accounts AND a part of the legit population buying gold from them with a markup fee. Blizzard has shown theyre all about that ca$h over the last few years (3 parts of the game for SC2, new xpac every year etc) so you never know![]()
