[Idea] Custom Twink PVP tracker - For Twinking Community

I'm bouncing some ideas around, since the user who contacted me isn't online; I'd love to hear some ideas that would help build this better:

    I'd use:

    http://us.battle.net/api/wow/charact...lds=statistics

To track individual character statistics for battlegrounds won. The more bg's a twink wins, the higher they show up in a rating system build with twinks in mind.

1 bg wins = 5 points (or something)
1 bg loss = -5 points (or something)

I can track wins and losses. Say he has 5 total AB's completed. Only 2 wins, that means he's won 2 and lost/tied 3. With that in mind, i can build a linear system that keeps track of players.

Now, the problem is experience on/off winning. Users can win easily with exp turned off; but risk leveling and ruining everything in that bracket.

I'm just brainstorming; I'd love to hear some ideas.

Seems like there is some timestamps on the data, maybe you could match those timestamps up against what level the character was at the time? Can't remember if the reach level ? achievements is tied to character or to account

Well, I'd assume the player STAYS at that level; since they work so hard for BiS gear. So If they get to level 30 (say bracket is 29's), they'll be disqualified

Yea, i doubt it will be a major problem tbh.
If you only are going to track ppl who signed up you could save the current level on signup and check if they are still in the correct bracket, as i guess you are going to pull data atleast once a day?

I would probably do a cronjob that runs every hour and pulls user data then. Also, yes; i'd have all user's names predefined. Probably have users sign into an application using battle.net's oauth (like i did for vArmory.org ).

Sounds like a great idea Maybe you should only track the matches post signup as I don't see how you would be able to distinguish which matches have been played in the 20-29 bracket and which in the 10-19 bracket on a level 29 twink etc. before signup if the achivements is account wide.

But it generally sounds like a fun idea which maybe could wake the twinking a bit up

You should REALY post this in the site called TwinkInfo.com Portal | World of Warcraft WoW Twinks , there are probably LOTS of people who would want this since they removed rated arenas/bgs for lower levels, + the fact they removed the old addon which showd a hidden rating for i.e. the 19 bracket.

I've been there before, they weren't very nice and it seemed dead. So I'd get ideas first here -> build it -> release the reins

Not to try sound mean or anything, http://avisavis.no/twink/ but something liek it has already been made, not that it's the best but gave an overview, another thing is, it's really easy to gain a high win / lose ratio as you can simply /afk bgs and it wont count towards statistics. We have had this up on TI a few times before, and currently a skirmish addon is in the makings AFAIK, I do like however your idea, but just telling you load of conciderations has to be done first. I would love to help you out if you would have time on skype one day "Snaske2" I think I already have you from the past.

    Best regards.
