A question to you computer experts out there! = D

    Hey guys,
Im currently running on a horrible PC and was looking to buy something new for WoD to be released!

    - Im looking for a computer which can run wow / Diablo 3 easily on top (Ultra) graphics
    - Wondering what a price would be
    - Any specific links or computers you guys know about which are good
    - Or anything else you guys would like to add :P

Just something along those lines would be great! Hope I can get many answers to make my choice a little easier
    Thanks all!
    Punchy

I dont play D3 but I would guess around 1k usd to get Ultra 1080p with steady 60fps.

All of these should get Ultra 1080p with steady high fps in WoW.

If you're looking for affordable and performable:

I use a Fusion Asgard which is "choose-your-own" or "take the default" built PC; it's £599 with VAT ($961) but you can knock off about £40 off by not including an operating system (comes with Windows 7 if you do if you don't select one). I run WoW on Ultra at a good 70-90 FPS in crowded areas and around 100-280 in instances/arenas (mostly influenced on instance textures / how many particles there are). Like I said, it can be custom enhanced so you could add a few £/$ on for a better graphics card. In terms of BGs / 10 man raids the FPS is between 60-80 most of the time and rarely dips below, I have yet to try it on 25 man raids. However, come WoD there's an option to change graphics just for raiding. Recording wise I cap at 60 FPS and manage to keep it that in most areas of the game.

    Specs are here:
    Fusion Asgard 2 - Chillblast

On another note, if you want to enhance your performance, your Operating System (DON'T USE VISTA PLEASE) and what services you keep running will affect how many frames you get per second. Turning off visual effects is a big one.

I did say it was basically pick & mix; but without being rude if he's not greatly technically able, how will he know what to look for in a custom build?

Building one yourself will get you more bang for your buck BUT for a decent build, you are looking at $900+. As for store bought/pre-built... You're looking at spending around $800+. You don't want an entry level PC. The problem with store bought PC's is that you are VERY limited to certain specs and you end up paying for things you don't need or want, and getting cheaped out on the good specs.
