Suspended for botting.

Hello, everyone. I'm new here.
Yesterday I was suspended for 72 hrs for using honorbuddy.
I had gatherbuddy2 on for quite a long time. It was farming ghost iron ore in Valley of the four winds. I had DND on and I was farming both day and night, I've done it for 4 days. Not 24/7 but still a lot. Should I stop botting? Or should I change something to avoid being banned? I only have 1 account.
I've been using honorbuddy for a month but after 4 days of botting for ghost iron, I got suspended. Here is the message I got:

Completely avoid farming nodes herb/mine in Pandaria on your main account. It's very easily noticed now. I agree, if you care about this account, stop botting on it.

You're very lucky that they didn't perma-ban you, don't bot on that account anymore if you care about it. Just add a second account to your battle.net account and bot on that one if need be.

Do you know how blizzard knows about it? Is it just by people reporting?

I'm not able to speak on behalf of blizzard, but their methods of detection theories range from node counting all the way to play log reports.

About 4 months ago I was using hb for like a month or two, I didn't do gathering stuff, just archeology, fishing, and dungeon buddy. My sub ran out in feb and I haven't played since then.

You got off lucky on this one. That would scare me enough to move the botting to a subaccount.. where you do all of your illegal activity.

I would stop botting on that account and if you really want to continue botting the get a 2nd account just for that.

On a side note; Does anyone know what makes a difference for blizzard to give you a temporary ban or a permanent ban? Botting is Botting

they don't normally perma ban you intll you have had 2 prior suspensions, if you get a quick instaban you can appeal and most likely get it back (using one of the letter apeal services on ownedcore) if u want higher chance at recovery, so keep botting if u want too, but keep in mind it might be perma, but most likely not
i think over the years i had about 7 suspensions on my main account, and the one that got me was PQR
