    Defending against DDoS

Hey so I just decided to take a crack at playing serious RBG's this season and now that I have broken above the 1800 mark as a guardian druid I've been targeted twice by enemy DDoS attacks. I basically have no understanding of how it works other than my internet is flawless all day every day except during an rbg usually right when it would be extremely adventurous for the other team if I dc'd, usually its shortly after I grab a flag I start lagging like crazy and usually get dc'd from wow and skype. I'm all for people who use exploits and bots responsibly for their own benefit without directly attacking other players but this was BS. Anyone have any advice on how to prevent a DDoS attack.

If this is the case, they are targeting IP's server-side and there is nothing you can do about it except reporting them.
Them managing to get your IP from playing a battleground against you?... nah.

Enable "Allow direct contact to contacts only" under "Options" -> "Advanced" -> "Connection". This will break all Skype Resolvers (websites, who output your IP, when you enter a Skype name, e.g.: resolveme.org). Afterwards, get a new IP (restart modem/router, or call provider in case you live in shitty US with shitty providers named Comcast and AT&T).

    Good luck.

Thanks, also do you think it's possible they are getting my IP because I'm using Oqueue?

Oqueue is an addon, it doesn't deal with internet protocols.

I doubt anyone cares enough to ddos at 1800 mmr unless you pissed someone off and hes trying to take revenge, just dont throw your skype around and you should be fine, now you might want to change your ip if it keeps happening, was it the same team or different teams? If it was 2 different teams its probably not any of them, but someone whos just pissed at you and had your ip from before

you sir are dead wrong, this breaks no resolvers except the newb ones. ive proven this time and time again.

my only advice is to change skype names if this is a huge deal for you and to not publicly post your skype name or if you live stream never show your name. Ether way sounds like you pist off someone or could probably on your friends list or someone you know.

This. If he actually reversed leaked skype dlls he would have known that checking that in settings does nothing at all.

    Proof it to me.

Just created a Skype account with that option enabled, will stay up for the next 3 days (24/7).
    Name: ownedcoretopkek

    Give me my IP.

keep it civil, i was just letting him know the truth no need to bust out a ruler. if you would of done your homework you would see that option doesnt protect against anything. i dont need to prove anything to you. just google resolver and try it for your self or test it with a friend and you will clearly see that option does nothing. Only way to prevent your ip from getting stolen is connect via proxy or vpn.

I tried around 5+ resolvers, none are working with that option enabled on my freshly created account. You are clearly talking bullshit, sorry.

Guess those resolvers are crap. Sorry if you guys would like to deal this out but i'd like to end all the flaming because finn you are just straight up wrong. For listed both of your skypes: ******** and ownedcoretopkek they're both coming up as 172.31.255.249 which in fact is a US IP(which doesn't make sense because you are from the NL). Which means for some reason you are hiding under something, that i found is called: iana. Also if you were actually using what you said it wouldn't of been coming up as the company hiding you......
