removing sms from wow account

so i traded a wow account with a friend of mines who got it from one of his friends a few years back and he had an sms authentication on it. he no longer has that phone anymore and i was wondering if there's any way i could get blizz to remove it. i don't have a lot of the orignal account information so i'm at a loss at what to do. i've considered trying to tell blizz that the account is under a fasle name but i don't know any of the old info except the name and the secret question. can anyone help me with this?

You can simply login on the website and disable it. Just like adding and authenticator or something.

can't. to disable it asks for a code that is text'd to the number that it was linked to

Assuming this story isn't absolute bullshit, which it is, have your friend's friend call and just tell them the truth, I've had to do this around 5 times. "I no longer have access to the phone number attached to the account" is all he really has to say. If it's his account then there's not a single reason Blizzard won't do it.

On a more realistic note: Be more careful when you buy accounts and learn from this mistake.

don't worry it's true. i already sent and email. waiting for a reply. and i didn't buy it lol. i traded an LoL account for his wow account
